Kira stepped back, out of the range of harm

"You turned your back on me first. You did it when you left me and Dad. You did it again when I came to you for help after Dad's accident. So now I'm just returning the favour!

Kira stared fixedly at her. 'Helen Raynor, you are my biological mother, but I wish you weren't. I wish I was born to any other wornan but you. If there was a way to get rid of the part of my DNA that's passed down from you, believe me, I'd move heaven and earth to make it happen.! Helen looked stupidly at her daughter, her mouth agape.

She headed for the stairs and wished her hands weren't shalding so much.

She'd finally got it off her chest after so many years.

Her strength was completely sapped, but Kira forced herself to keep moving

It was past five pm when Kira left the hospital.

She was starving

The confrontation with Helen had taken a lot out of her.

Kira was in desperate need of some comfort food.

She headed into the first diner she saw and ordered the first ten dishes off the men

She called Glana while waiting for her food to be served.

"Hey, bestie, what are you doing?

"Working, What's up?

'Nothing. Just wanted to check in. I'll let you get back to work then!

'Kira, what's wrong?

'Nothing.'

'Come on. I low that voice."

"What voice?*

"The voice you use when you're upset and want to vent"

'So? Spill. Don't make me pull it out of you.!

Kira blew out a breath. "It's nothing. I just wanted to ask you out for dinner!

I can probably get the manager to let me off early."

"No, no, you shouldn't.' Kira knew how important Giana's job was to her.

She, like Kira, needed the money.

"Really, I'm fine. I'll call you later." Kira hung up.

She stared at the menu.

One, two, three.. Yep, a total of ten dishes.

What was she thinking?

There was no way she could finish everything by herself,

Kira looked at her phone, hesitated, then dialled another number.

Austyn's phone started buzzing on the table

Deborah caught the caller ID on the lit up screen.

It was obviously a woman's name.

She didn't recall anyone by that name in Austyn's life seven years ago.

Austyn put down his fork, wiped his innuth with a serviette and picked up his phone,

He stood up

"You can answer the call here," Deborah said

She ackled with a smile. Unless you don't want me to hear it."

'I don't want to disrupt your dinner."

"It's fine. I don't minil."
