Bedmates Soulmates
CHAPTER 372

Kira felt a sharp pinch on her chin.

She opened her eyes, grimacing in pain.

She hadn't dreamed the pain.

Austyn's eyes bore into hers

It was his fingers on her chin

He stared at her silently.

His brows were furrowed.

She couldn't understand the look in his eyes.

Not a look of anger, but not of joy, either.

Kita blinked herself awake

The soft feel underneath her wasn't that of the sola.

She was in the bedroom.

Did Austyn carry her up here?

Butterscotch Or Mint

She breathed in and inhaled a minty scent.

It was the same scent in her dream.

She'd thought it was Gideon.

Did she talk in her sleep?

She vaguely recalled calling out Gideon's name, wanting an answer from him.

Kira swallowed.

Did Austyn hear anything?

"When, ah, when did you come back?"

Austyn released his grip on her chin.

"You said something in your sleep."

Uh-oh.

Kira blinked rapidly. 'Did I? 1, uh, I must have mumbled some nonsense.

'Do you want to know what you said?"

Kira shook her head adamantly.

Their faces were inches apart.

She could feel his breath on her face.

Uncomfortable, she wriggled out from under him and rolled to the other side of the bed.

Austyn scowled. "Come here."

Kira stayed put.

She just remembered that they were in a fight.

'Why is he acting as if nothing happened?" she thought, miffed.

Austyn straightened up.

The first thing she did when she woke up was to put as much distance between them as possible.

But just now, in her sleep, she was holding on to his waist and calling another man's name in a soft, gentle voice. She did it repeatedly, sweetly, longingly.

What was them?

Brother Gideon?

He knew a person by that name, but Kira couldn't possibly know the same Gideon he did

And where did the 'brother' come from?

Mortal Enemy

Her half-sibling was a girl, Georgina.

Austyn had never heard of a brother before.

'If I remember correctly, you are your father's only child."

"Yes,"

.

"Then who is this Brother Gideon you kept calling in your sleep?

"The neighbour's kid." Kira said, improvising.

Austyn narrowed his eyes.

Kira nodded as if to emphasise the credibility of her statement. 'He was the neighbour's kid. I used to play with him when I was little. Then he moved away and I haven't seen him since. I must've dreamed about him just now. I don't know why.' 'You dream about the things you think about,' Austyn said.

*Really?' Kira shrugged. "I haven't thought about him in a long time.'

"Then why is he in your dream?"

Kira spread out her hands. 'Beats me.'

Austyn stared at her for a few seconds.

Then he reached over the bed and pulled her back into his arms.

Kira struggled frantically. "What are you doing? Let me go!"

"Don't move." He restrained her arms. 'Let me see your bruise."

Kira stopped fighting

She wanted to roll her eyes.

Couldn't he have just said so?

Why must he always act in a way that made others misunderstand?

She thought he was going to spank her.

Austyn rolled up her bell sleeve.

His fingers touched the purplish bruise.

Kira hissed

"Sorry."

Austyn removed his hand.

The swelling had not gone down.

If anything, it looked worse.

Sit still"

He got up from the bed.

Kira sat on her haunches and watched him rummage around on the nightstand on his side of the bed, opening and shutting each drawer

What was he doing?

She was still feeling groggy-

She had no idea how long she'd slept.

Austyn didn't find what he was I

He went into the bathroom.
