A figure poked his head through the open doorway.

The man's voice was so sinister that it sent a chill down her spine.

He ran his cold eyes over her as if sizing up prey.

The man's reptilian gaze and vulgar comment made Kira's flesh crawl.

She struggled harder.

They were standing so close that she could see a scar on his chin.
