Sean spat onto the ground.

'Not at all. Please, go ahead.' The investor even nudged Kayleigh towards Sean.

Sean threw a hand over Kayleigh's shoulders and half-carried her away.

The two C-list actresses from MS watched them with ill-concealed jealousy. The diva was so lucky.

And now she was hooking up with the second most powerful man at Revency.

He got out and opened the passenger side door.

Charles Wadsworth looked at least a decade older than Liam.

But she said nothing and waited for him to continue.

'Young Master didn't have a happy childhood. Nor did he receive much affection, despite being the second son of the powerful McCarthy family. Do you know why?"

'Young Master took his last name from his mother. Ms Cane didn't find out she was a mistress until Young Master turned ten years old. The discovery shocked and depressed her. She just wasted away after that. She passed away when Young Master was twenty.' Kira listened, open-mouthed.

When she learned Austyn and Liam were half brothers, she'd thought it was because their father had two marriages.

If Liam's mother was a mistress, that would mean Liam was born out of wedlock.

Liam was lying to her right from the start.

Once she saw through that, it was very hard for her to trust him again.

"The man who dropped by earlier is Mr Sean Santoro,' Charles said, 'He's Young Master's partner in business. They hold equal shares in the company. Mr Santoro brings more than just money to the table. Without him, Revency would not be the success it is today. If I were Young Master, I would not choose to go against him. It wouldn't do me any good. But...

He fixed his eyes on Kira's face. 'But Young Master did. He ignored Mr Santoro's request and asked me to drive you home. There will be consequences for Young Master, but he did not hesitate to make the call. If that doesn't show he's serious about you, what does? He would not give a damn if it were anybody else."

Kira didn't know what to say.

Kira's head was still whirling after she reached the villa.

Elsie greeted her, but she didn't catch a word of what the housekeeper said.

Elsie looked worried.
