'Coming!' Kira headed for the door.

'Stop!' Austyn barked out an order.

'Shush.' Kira spun around and glared at him. 'You need to rest. Doctor Chase said you have a swollen tonsil. You shouldn't talk so much. And have something important to tend to." Austyn looked at her with a stony face. 'If you step out that door, don't ever come back.'

Kira forced herself to calm down.

She knew she couldn't beat Austyn physically, nor did she want to.

But she could appeal to his reason.
