Chapter 107 The Mystery of the Fire
After nearly twelve hours of battling at the office, Yvonne finally had dinner and struggled through the dense traffic on her way home.
The city at night was bustling, the neon lights on both sides of the road creating a dreamlike, colorful scene. The shops and skyscrapers along the streets competed to display their brilliance.
But Yvonne was in a hurry to get home and paid no attention to these dazzling sights.
When she arrived home, she was so tired that she almost couldn’t feel her legs. She quickly took off her coat and headed straight to the shower..
The steam quickly filled the space, covering the mirror with a layer of fog.
Yvonne touched the cold, hard mirror and slowly wiped it to reveal her reflection.
She studied her slightly flushed, tired yet still charming face, noticing a hint of fatigue in her eyes.
Stepping out of the bathroom, Yvonne sat down at her desk.
The blue light from the computer screen illuminated her weary face.
She began to open the partnership files one by one, knowing that this was the main task she needed to complete tonight.
The information in the files was complex and detailed. She needed to establish partnerships with several companies, but things were not as straightforward as she had hoped.
The ideal partners couldn’t proceed for various reasons, while other brands, with which she wasn’t keen to collaborate deeply, frequently showed goodwill, leaving her in a dilemma.
With each case she read, her frown deepened. Occasionally, she would pause to look out the window, the night and streetlights slowly seeping into her room, bringing a moment of calm to her mood.
But she knew she couldn’t relax yet, so she took a deep breath and reminded herself that she needed to find a solution.
At this moment, Yvonne felt both anxious and confused. Her mind was filled with various strategies and forecasts, pondering how to negotiate in tomorrow’s meeting to secure the best partnership outcome. The ticking of the clock was especially clear in the silent night, as if reminding her of the urgency of time. Yvonne looked at the computer screen again, firmly opening a new file.
Bella walked into the room, carrying a cup of hot coffee, and handed it to Yvonne. “Yvonne, is the work still not going well?”
Bella asked with concern, her brow furrowed as well. “You’ve already secured the BR project, why are you! still so worried?”
Yvonne took the hot coffee, gently blew on it, and took a sip, the warm aroma spreading in her mouth.
“There’s been a bit of success,” she forced a smile. “Caesar Group has the largest single–floor area in Las Vegas. The largest operating area on the first floor naturally needs to gather more luxury brands. If L.S joins, it will further consolidate the luxury brand lineup on the first floor.”
Bella nodded in understanding, admiration shining in her eyes. “How is your shooting going? You’ve been so busy these days, I haven’t asked. The project manager called me several times, saying you’re really working hard.” Yvonne asked, looking at Bella with concern.
Bella laughed lightly, a hint of confidence and anticipation in her eyes. “Bella, do you still want to he

famous? Yvonne suddenly asked, her gaze steady.
“Of course, I still want to be famous, Bella answered without hesitation, her eyes filled with desire. “When I become famous, I’ll have lots of money and resources, making myself stronger so we won’t be at
anyone’s mercy.”
Yvonne chuckled softly, catching the underlying meaning in Bella’s words, and nodded slightly. “Alright, then get ready. You might be very busy for a while,” she said, her tone firm and encouraging.
“By the way, there’s new progress with Mary. Uncle John has been supporting Mary since high school. After she started university, she worked at the resort during weekends and holidays,” Bella suddenly remembered something and added quickly.
“So, she had the opportunity to get the brooch?” Yvonne’s eyes showed a hint of confusion, her brow furrowing slightly.
“Yes, and the pendant Benson gave you

might have been taken by her too,” Bella guessed, her tone tinged.
Thinking of her pendant, Yvonne felt a pang of sadness. It was a memento of her good times with Benson, but now it no longer mattered.
She sighed, a trace of sadness in her eyes. “In the next few days, I’ll find an opportunity to ask Miss Feng,” Yvonne said, her tone determined.
Mary’s reputation had suffered due to the breach of contract, her in
a bad situation. Yvonne thought, if Mary was involved in the end Benson hadn’t handled it, leaving
she wouldn’t let her go.
Before going to bed, Yvonne received a WeChat message from Benson: [Come home tomorrow?] She glanced at the message, then casually tossed her phone aside, ignoring it. She no longer dwell on those heartbreaking past events.

As the first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the half–open curtains, Yvonne was already awake. Her body felt recharged, filled with energy, ready to face a new workday.
Despite the clock showing it was only six in the morning, her spirits were high as if she had just returned from a long holiday.
After quickly completing her morning routine and donning her professional attire, she stepped out of her home.
Upon arriving at the company, Yvonne’s schedule was exceptionally tight.
From morning project meetings to lunchtime client receptions, followed by a series of internal review meetings in the afternoon, she managed every aspect with ease, embodying the image of a powerful businesswoman.
Handling files, analyzing data, modifying plans… every task was executed with high efficiency and precision.
As she walked out of the last meeting room, her thoughts still on the recently discussed project improvements, a cheer interrupted her contemplation.
It was Megan, her direct subordinate, a young and promising market analyst, who was now running toward her with uncontrollable excitement.
“What’s going on?” Yvonne, infected by Megan’s enthusiasm, asked curiously.
“Mr. Raymond agreed to the partnership. Megan almost shouted, her face beaming with the joy of victory.

Yvonne was stunned, showing a look of disbelief. She clearly remembered Mr. Raymond’s previously reserved attitude towards the partnership. “Really?” Her voice involuntarily rose, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, really.” Megan nodded vigorously, her eyes full of joy.
Yvonne frowned, her questioning gaze deepening behind her glasses. “Why the sudden change?”
Megan shrugged, smiling, “He must have figured it out.
Though Megan’s answer was simple, Yvonne’s mind was still clouded with a thin layer of doubt.
Not entirely at ease, she smiled and decided to investigate further. “Then it’s up to you, Megan. Check Mr. Raymond’s whereabouts yesterday?”
Last night, Mr. Raymond was still hesitant, so what caused the sudden change today?
