Chapter 150 The Office Answer

On Thanksgiving morning, Yvonne was still touring the store, the holiday joy unable to ease her work pressure.

Despite the festive atmosphere around her, her mind was completely focused on maintaining the store’s operation.

For Yvonne, even though she was amidst the holiday, she felt like an outsider, only occasionally glancing up from her busy schedule. to catch glimpses of the unfamiliar joy.

Meanwhile, back at her house, the room gradually filled with the lively atmosphere of the holiday.

Bella, having put in considerable effort, hurriedly moved from the kitchen to the living room, her busy figure visible in almost every

corner.

This year’s Thanksgiving felt unusually relaxed to Bella, thanks to Benson’s presence.

Watching Benson and little Emma’s harmonious interaction, Bella felt a sense of comfort.

Benson was a tall middle–aged man, always wearing a gentle. smile, especially when accompanying Emma.

Emma, a lively little girl, her eyes filled with curiosity and joy, exclaimed and laughed at the cartoons on TV.

Benson responded to her every question with his warm voice, making the whole room feel warm and homely.

In the kitchen, Hannah was extremely busy.

The sizzling sound from the oven indicated that the turkey was

roasted to a golden crisp.

The table was filled with various ingredients. Her nimble fingers sprinkled spices and stirred the vegetables in the pot.

Every time she tasted a spoonful, a satisfied smile appeared on her flour–covered face.

Though Thanksgiving allowed family gatherings, her busyness seemed never–ending.

Between the kitchen and the living room, Bella stood in the narrow doorway, her gaze penetrating the hallway.

Bella watched all this, feeling a long–lost peace in her heart.

Her eyes lingered on Benson, observing his every move.

Since Benson came here, Yvonne’s home had become well- organized, and Bella’s resentment towards him had diminished significantly.

She thought that perhaps behind Benson’s search for the pendant lay his deep affection for Yvonne, not just some superficial

behavior.

“Bella, can you help me with that plate of fried chicken?” Hannah’s voice broke Bella’s thoughts, and she turned to the steamy kitchen.

As she picked up the plate, the rich aroma hit her senses, and for a moment, she felt surrounded by the warmth and joy of the household and the holiday.

Carefully placing the plate on the full dining table, Bella heard Hannah laughingly say, “You’ve worked hard today.”

Yvonne was busy with work, and although Bella was also tired, seeing the home so warm made her feel deeply satisfied beyond her physical fatigue.

“Oh, it’s nothing. Everyone’s busy, Bella smiled, carrying the plate out of the kitchen and placing it on the dining table.

Benson, having finished his tasks, walked into the kitchen to leave. Hannah packed more fried meat, handed it to him, and said, “Take some to the Taylor family.”

Benson nodded, took the plate, and prepared to leave. Bella slowly followed him, “Are you looking for someone?”

Benson turned to look at Bella, frowning slightly. “What?”

“I asked if you were looking for someone?” Bella repeated, her tone.

inquisitive.

Benson didn’t answer immediately, just quietly watched her.

Last time, Mary mentioned he was looking for someone, and Yvonne seemed to have clues. This was evidently true.

Benson nodded, admitting, “Yes, I’m looking for someone. How do you know I’m looking for someone?”

Bella didn’t answer directly, just stared at Benson for a while, feeling a bit of relief for Yvonne.

They were a perfect match; if they had each other in their hearts, it would be a joyful thing for everyone.

But such a surprise shouldn’t come from an outsider like her.

“Be good to Yvonne, and you’ll find her,” Bella said softly.

Benson was slightly shaken by these words, but he raised his eyebrows.

“Oh?” he responded in a low voice, with a hint of doubt and

expectation.

Bella said nothing more, turning back to the living room. Benson. watched her back, feeling a complex emotion rise within him.

He knew his feelings for Yvonne were real, but getting her to accept them wouldn’t be easy.

Benson dropped Emma off at home, then picked up his phone to call Yvonne, asking when she would be done and if she would

come home for lunch.

“I’ll be back in the afternoon,” Yvonne replied on the other end, her voice carrying a hint of exhaustion

She had just left the mall and still had to return to the office.

Victoria, seeing her son finally showing some concern for Yvonne, felt a bit relieved.

In the past, during holidays, he would always be at home like a stone, not helping with anything, and never smiling. Now, she felt this change was very good.

Near noon, with a hint of morning freshness still lingering in the air, Victoria returned to the living room from the kitchen, carrying a delicate food box.

Benson sat on the sofa, watching TV and scrolling through his phone with boredom, looking absent–minded.

Seeing her son like this, Victoria sighed softly but her eyes were full of tenderness.

She handed over the food box, seeing Benson look at her in confusion.

She smiled gently, explaining in a warm tone, “There’s really nothing to handle at home today. Go have lunch with Yvonne, then come back together and prepare for the holiday.”

Despite her dissatisfaction with Benson’s behavior lately, considering the tests his relationship with Yvonne had undergone, Victoria still hoped her son wouldn’t miss out on such a good

woman.

Benson, carrying the food box, left with a somewhat complex expression.

He had some grievances about Yvonne’s recent busyness, but her attitude towards him had noticeably warmed up compared to before.

Her occasional small gestures, like kisses and hugs, brought him a sense of sweetness and hope.

Although he had some inner turmoil, he also harbored a sliver of hope: perhaps Yvonne was really considering giving him another

chance.

With these mixed emotions, Benson walked into the Caesar Group

building.

As it was close to the holidays, most employees were on vacation. The spacious office area was unusually quiet, with only a few people still working.

Entering Yvonne’s office, Benson saw for the first time the place he had heard so much about.

The office was simply decorated but tasteful, with every item reflecting the owner’s sense of style and neatness.

A large bookshelf stood against the wall, neatly lined with various books, from professional management and marketing to literary works.

On the desk, a photo frame caught Benson’s attention.

The person in the photo, John, smiled brightly, causing a slight tremor in Benson’s heart.

He realized that if it weren’t for him, would her father still be

around?

Such thoughts brought a sense of guilt, as he had never deeply pondered these heavy questions before, always choosing to avoid them.

Benson took a deep breath, trying to put aside those distractions.
