“She just won’t stop. My God, the strength this one has,” I complained to my husband as I tried to put my daughter to sleep. She just wouldn’t go to sleep. I felt like I wanted to rip my hair out of my head. Whoever said motherhood is the most divine thing out there in the world… is lying. “Will you just stop, Emorilee?”

This was torture. Pure and simple. I hadn’t slept in weeks, and tomorrow I was leaving to go visit my best friend, and I needed sleep.

“Give her to me,” Reid took her from my arms and cradled her in his arms, looking so at home, as if he was made for that. She instantly calmed down. “Easy…”

I bared my teeth at him and he shook his head.

“Do not bite me, Luna,” he said with a chuckle. “Go to sleep. I will take care of her.”

“Are you sure?” I looked at Reid, my heart giving a mighty tug. He looked delicious and I would love to have my hands on him, but since my daughter came, hers were the only little claws on me and him. He chuckled.

“Of course. Go. I know how excited you are to meet Riley,” he said as he pulled me to him and kissed me on my lips. I m****d a little and his eyes sparked.

“I know,” I whispered in reply the words he hadn’t said out loud. Sometimes, I felt like the odd one out among the wolves. They were strong, powerful and connected by something I would never feel, but the feeling would only last, not more than a second, because… I always knew what Reid was thinking — and there was just no doubt. I could read him without words.

I am a human. I am a Luna. And I am a mom.

Just thinking that I had lost all of it because I was so afraid to love him, it still made me shudder. But thank the Goddess, we took a chance on each other, because… what is love, but choosing someone over everyone and everything, even if you are a wolf!

Because… I don’t think just a mate bond is enough without love.

“I love you, my Alpha. I love that you took a chance on me, on us.”

“I love you, my Luna, my mate… Now off you go…”

“Are you ready, momma? You taking… much time,” a frustrated voice said from outside the door. I took in a deep breath, and pressed a hand to my fluttering stomach. I was nervous.

“Mirabel, you impatient little imp, just calm down,” I said to my daughter as I adjusted the soft pink dress I was wearing and opened the door. Mirabel was comfortably sitting on Roman’s arm.

She was the most spoiled wolf in this side of Nightshade.

I shook my head as I looked at them with a smile.

“Are you ready, love?”

“Da, not love. Kitten,” Mirabel said with a giggle and Roman shook his head as he buried his face in her head.

“I think we have to stop saying dirty things in front of her. She is growing up so fast,” Roman mind-linked me.

“Yes, she is. Where is Ad?” I asked as I walked out with them to the car.

“He is getting everything ready for today’s opening.”

Yes. I had officially finished my courses. I spent two years mostly on my books, and my sexy mates, of course. I took a lot of courses for credits, and now I am a graduate. No, I wasn’t just that — now, I am a business woman. I owned Riley’s Sweet Secret.

I knew I would have survived even without Roman and Adrian, but having them next to me… it was the best thing I could have ever wanted.

When we reached the shop, Mirabel jumped down and ran to Adrian. She called both Roman and Adrian Da, but… Adrian was still her special person. Even more than me. I watched with a soft smile as Adrian picked her up. He spoiled her senseless, but… she deserved to be spoiled.

She was laughing, thriving, growing…

I sighed. Sometimes, I thought about how Ethan’s life ended — meaningless, and cruel, and my heart still twitched, but she is happy, healthy now and that was all that mattered to me.

“Hey Riley,” the Queen said as she walked out of her car with her mate. We had spent hours talking about Nadia, and Alexia now felt more like a friend than my mate’s mother. “I am so proud of you.”

“Thank you, your majesty.” It had become our joke. She laughed and shook her head as she walked towards Roman, and pulled him into a hug.

A lot has changed in the past two years.

Dee and Reid had a future Alpha. I was so proud when Dee named her Emorilee. I rarely used the name, but it was still mine.

Nadia was now working for the Red Watchers. It was more of a slave contract than anything, but that was all she deserved anyway. We talk, but… it was what it was. She worked with doctor Tim and Marcus. She did help a lot with Dean too.

Dean and Bella…

Think of the devil… My sister-in-law walked in with her new flavor of the month.

Dean and Bella broke up. None of us expected that, but it happened.

“My goddess, Riley, this is beautiful. I am going to spend all my time here from now on.”

“You already don’t have enough time for dating,” a soured voice said. I saw Dean walking in. He had gone through a lot, but thanks to my father, and Nadia, he was here, he was awake and the guys were so excited to have him back in their lives.

“Dean,” Bella said with a frown. “I didn’t know you were coming.”

“Hmm? You wouldn’t have come if you had known, would you?” he said with a shrug before he walked towards where Adrian was laughing with Roman and Mirabel. The guys looked up and hugged Dean. Bella threw Dean a look before she walked away with the blonde Ken doll she came with.

Finn threw an arm around me and turned me towards him. “Smile, sister. They will be alright. Don’t worry about them, or anything else. Today is your day. Just think about yourself for now.”

“I know, I know… but it just- they-“

“What did I say?” Finn said with a shake of his head. “There is a time and place for worrying about someone else, but this isn’t it. This is your big day.”

“Yes, it is. Everyone is here now, except Dee and Reid and Keller. Can you call Reid and check?” I asked Finn. “I had some last minute things I have to deal with,” I said and he nodded. I walked inside the kitchen and grabbed the tray of sugar cookies I made. I frosted it with wolves….

When I walked out, I saw my best friend walking in with her family.

“You are here,” I said as I hugged her and inhaled her familiar scent. “You are late. You promised you would come before a week.”

“It is your goddaughter, Riley. I just can’t,” Dee said with a chuckle. “She is a wolf… and it shows.”

I laughed a little.

“She will be amazing.”

Reid gave me a hug and then Keller pulled me into a big hug.

Keller had a boyfriend now, and he looked happy and in love, and I was happy for him.

“Hey guys, thank you for coming. This here is a part of my big dreams. The biggest part is Roman and Adrian and Mirabel and all of you, too.”

My eyes were wet as I looked at my mates, my daughter, Adrian’s parents and Rome’s parents and the others. Ash was the only one missing today, but she called me early in the morning to wish me.

“But… after everything that had happened, I realized I wanted something all for myself, something that had always been my dream. I have sacrificed a lot for… my ex-mate. I had almost sacrificed myself in the process to please him, and I never saw how much he manipulated me. I lost a huge part of me to try to be the Luna he wanted. That is the difference between him and my real, true mates. Adrian and Roman never told me what to do with me life. They showed me how much I deserved to be loved, cherished and I learned from them — to love myself the best possible way I can. This is my first step to loving myself.”

Roman and Adrian walked towards me and hugged me. I felt content. This was my life, this heavenly, peaceful one.

“Now, I have something for all of you.”

“Here, it is yours and yours,” I handed the cookies to Adrian and Rome.

“Wait… oh, this looks just like Karl. And that looks like Clay. When did you do all of this? Goddess Kitten, it is too much work.”

“It is not enough, Rome… never enough,” I said to him before I handed the rest of the cookies. I had used some details to draw the wolves with the frosting. I used the right colors to make the wolves resemble each one of them.

They gushed.

“It- I am not eating it,” the Queen said. “I am going to put it in a glass box and keep it.”

“No, you gotta eat that.”

“How can anyone eat such a gorgeous cookie, Riley?” Josephine, Adrian’s mother, chuckled. “You captured my wolf with such perfection.”

The Queen and Josephine smiled at me before they walked away, talking about what they usually talked about. I had realized that they were the best of friends, like Dee and me.

“Here is yours, Deidre, and Keller,” I handed them their cookies. I drew the three of us on the cookies I made for them. “No matter where our lives take us, this is the moment I will always remember.”

“It doesn’t matter, Riley. You can be on the space, and you will still be my best friend,”Dee said.

After a while, everyone congratulated me and left.

I had also hired a few wolves from Nightshade to help me with the shop. I told them what they should do before I walked put with my mates.

“Come with me,” I said to Roman and Adrian. I had already asked Alexia to look after Mirabel.

“Are we going somewhere?” Adrian asked as he pressed a k**s against my cheek. “I am so proud of you, Red.”

I nodded and got in the car. A few more minutes later, I stopped in front of the house. It was not too big, but it was just the right size.

“What is-” Adrian started and then gasped. “We are going to live here? Are we?”

“If you want. I love Nightshade. But I feel like I need some quiet for a while. It had been too loud and noisy for too long. Mirabel and the little one would absolutely love it here.” I softly rubbed my stomach.

“THE WHAT NOW?” Roman blinked and gasped, looking pale.

“Oh, he is not going to faint, is he?” I asked and looked at Adrian, who was usually the calm one, but now he looked like he was asphyxating too.

“Guys…”

“Oh, Red, wait, stop. Why are you walking in high heels? No, let me carry you. Oh, you are going to be– we are going to be- my Goddess…” Adrian stuttered and then he pulled me in a hug and pressed a k**s to my lips. I could see his eyes were wet. “Let me carry you.”

“Hell no, Ad, I can walk, alright.”

Rome was still standing there blinking.

I walked to the house and opened the door. The soft scent of pine and lemon greeted me. It smelled like home already. I could imagine how life would be here. I knew, I couldn’t spend all my life here, that one day Rome would become the king, and Adrian, the Queen — we still joked about that, but I wanted a few years, just for ourselves, before we had to do our duties.

I laughed when Roman pulled me into a hug. He had finally recovered from the shock. My back pressed against his chest as he softly kissed my cheek.

“My Luna… you are going to be a mom.”

“I am already a mom, but yes, again,” I said as his hand went to my stomach.

“You don’t know how happy I am now, and how scared… I hope i don’t suck.”

“You are already the best father to Mirabel.”

“I know, I know, but I am still nervous,” he said as Adrian closed the door and walked in.

“I brought champagne, but you probably shouldn’t drink it. Rome and I would. Congratulations, dad,” Adrian said to Roman with a smile. “I know… what you will be doing when I have to go on that trip with my dad…”

I laughed. Roman poked his tongue out.

“She is just as much as yours as she is mine, you know that, right?”

“She?” I asked with smirk. “I feel like I want a broody Lycan.”

“We already have a grumpy lycan,” Adrian said. “And I know, Rome, I know. She is OURS. She will make our worlds bigger and better.”

“YES!”

Bigger and better. I felt my heart grow to love one more person.
