Chapter 17.5 - Hidden Chapter

I am in the same bedroom but somehow there is something different… these are my initial thoughts as soon as I realize I am again, inside a dream.

Then, my eyes landed on the scene before me.

“No!” I shouted as I ran towards the bed where the man from dreams was lying, his hands holding a sword pointing to his chest.

“No!” But I was too late. He stabbed his heart with a silver sword in his hands.

Blood started pouring out of his chest.

He is dying.

“How could you?!” I said as I held his hand.

He looked at me, then moved one of his left hands to touch my face.

“You are real…” he said in a weak voice. “I have waited for you for millennia… but you never came.”

“I am sorry…” I said as I touched his face.

“I thought that day was just a dream, that I would be lonely forever…”

“I’m sorry, I am sorry…”

“It’s okay,” he said.

“You’re here now…” He smiled, then finally, he closed his eyes. I waited for them to open, but they never did.

He died in front of me.

“Why?” I shouted.

I finally opened my eyes. I looked at the couch where Gideon was sleeping, searching for any sign that he had been woken up by my nightmares.

He’s still asleep.

I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. I tried to remember what my dream was. I still couldn’t recall his face, but I could still feel the emotions I had inside the dream.

The feeling of him dying in my arms…

I had stopped having these dreams for a while since I had jumped into the river of hellfire, or maybe long before that. I couldn’t remember.

The question is why I am having these dreams again.

I thought, they were only a product of my subconscious mind… that I was only having them because of my secret relationship with Alaric.

But now, I don’t love him anymore. I even hate him. Just the thought of him makes me want to stab something.

So why am I having these dreams again?

Does this mean they are not just ordinary dreams?

Could they be a peak at my past life or a glimpse of my future?

I don’t know.

Maybe only time can tell.
