Blurred Lines 1: CHASE -
Chapter 134
~Sofia~
"Please tell me what I'm seeing is really happening," I whispered to Jessica, watching Georgia and Rafa walk hand in hand on the beach. I'd been wondering where Georgia had disappeared, and I got my answer.
The sun will dive into the horizon in about an hour. Jessica and I were enjoying the last of today's sun in the infinity pool. Our arms clung to the poolside, the water rippling over our bodies, spilling over the granite edge.
Chase, Derek, and Leo were drinking beer while manning the grill. Miles was watching over the kids. Elise and Julian were going crazy over the water slide. To be fair, Elise didn't pay any mind to the slide until Julian arrived. Jose, Diego, and Clara were lounging on the poolside, drinking and chatting, laughing every time the kids would do tricks as they jumped in the pool.
This day had been the best day since Pinehills. This is the most relaxed and unwinded I have ever been, all thanks to Chase.
Jessica lifted her gaze from her phone and peered at the beach. "I think Rafa getting tangled with Sammy's death knocked some sense into Georgia."
"Yeah?" I scooted closer to Jessica, wiggling my feet to keep me afloat in the water.
Chase forgot to mention that.
"Yep. When she heard the news of Chase being accused of murder, she asked me to come with her to the precinct. We waited there until Rafa was released." Jessica lifted the phone and started taking a video of Rafa and Georgia.
They were a picture-perfect couple watching the sunset. Georgia was in a blue bikini, wearing a white knitted cover-up, and Rafa was wearing only board shorts. The sun gifted us with an explosion of pastel colors on the horizon, and its reflection on the ocean was a picturesque view.
Rafa released Georgia's hand and threw an arm around her shoulder, drawing her closer.
"Awe..." Jessica and I sighed.
"Those two were meant for each other," I said.
"I'm so jealous, but I'm happy for Georgia," Jessica murmured. "Oh... they're gonna kiss!"
Georgia tipped her chin up, meeting Rafa's eyes. They stared at each for a moment, then Rafa cupped Georgia's face, and slowly, their lips met.
My heart melted at the vision in front of us. We were all waiting for them to kiss and makeup, and Jessica captured this special moment for our friends. Jessica leaned her head on my shoulder, turning her phone down.
"I wish I'd find my happily ever after, too."
"I don't think there's such a thing as happily ever after," I said. "There's just finding paths that lead to our happiness, Jess."
"Maybe you're right," Jessica agreed. "I'm content with being alone, although if there's someone out there for me, I hope he finds me before I grow cobwebs in my v****a."
I giggled, swatting her arm. "Watch your mouth. There are kids with us."
She pouted. "They're too happy with your hot little brother and that slide to hear me."
"Hey! Not Miles." I nudged her head away from my shoulder.
"What?!" her eyes widened in feign innocence. "He's actually cute."
"Not him, Jessica," I said earnestly. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on FindNovel.net. Visit FindNovel.net to read the complete chapters for free. Though I knew she was only kidding, I still explained why. "I don't mind you becoming my sister-in-law. I'd love that, but I think something happened to Miles."
I looked over my shoulder. My younger brother was now carrying Elise over his shoulder, and Leo had Julian. They were having a chicken fight, the kids' laughter was melody to our ears. Clara, Diego, and Jose were cheering them on.
"Love changes people," Jessica said. "Someone as free-spirited as Miles will not stay home unless he got his heart broken."
I faced the beach again. Rafa and Georgia were now sitting on the sand. "I worry about him."
Jessica nudged my shoulder. "You worry too much. He's a big boy. He can handle himself."
I hummed, looking over the front of the mansion as a car pulled over.
From the passenger side, Carlota slipped out clad in a red string bikini top and tiny denim shorts. She pulled her sunglasses down, eyes scanning the area. The pool area was on higher ground on the side of the mansion. She met my gaze, and a huge smile stretched her lips. Her mouth moved. I think she called my name then she waved at me.
Eros slid out from the driver's side, sporting a white shirt and army green board shorts.
"Is that Carlota's brother?" Jessica asked.
"Eros? Yeah," I waved back at Carlota and motioned them to come to the beachside, where there's a way up to where we are. Chase had already informed me he invited them to our mini-reunion.
"Damn... where was he hiding all this time?" Jessica purred.
My brows arched. "You already met him at the engagement party."
She shook her head. "I didn't," she murmured, crossing her arms on the pool edge, watching Eros and Carlota walk towards Rafa with googly eyes. "I would have remembered him."
I rolled my eyes. "You were still hung up on Franco at that time. That's why you haven't seen him. In fact, you kinda shooed every guy who showed interest in you."
Recollection crossed her face, her lips pursing at the memory. "I'm not hung up on that Devil's spawn anymore." She tipped her chin up, convincing me. I've known Jessica for a long time to know that she had finally moved on. But the guy she wanted to climb was probably worse than Franco. I'm not judging Eros, but his life has no room for romance.
"I'm ready to mingle," Jessica added.
"For the love of God, Jess. Didn't you remember a thing I told you about him this morning? Eros lives in a dangerous world."
"Pfff." She dismissed my words. "If he lived in hell and invited me over? I would catch the first train to hell for that, Sofia." I sighed, ready to give her a piece of my mind, but she gripped my arm and shook me. "Oh.... he's coming!" She faced me, running her fingers through her damp hair. "How do I look?"
"You look beautiful," I said honestly. "Just... be careful, okay?"
"Yes, Mom," she wiggled closer to me. "Now, introduce us."
Carlota and Eros made it to the pool area. Chase was a good host and welcomed them, introducing Carlota to everyone. My brothers had already met Eros at the engagement party, but Derek's smile faded when she saw Carlota. While Jessica and I climbed out of the water, I watched a different kind of electric charge spark between Derek and Carlota, making my brows furrow.
'I thought they were on good terms after what happened at Oakwood?'
Jessica tugged my arm, pouting her lip towards the other side of the pool. Chase handed Eros a beer, exchanged a few words, patting each other's shoulder. Chase smiled once he saw us coming over, instantly drawing me to his side and kissing my temple. "You good?" he asked. I ran a hand over his bare chest, tapping his well-toned six-pack. Tingles flared at my fingertips, my lady parts coming alive.
With all the stress and pressure looming over our heads, this was the first time I was actually seeing Chase in this light. His smile was wide, and his eyes were shining with glee. He was more at ease. And damn, his body looked good as ever. For someone who sleeps with him every night, it's like he grew bigger and bulkier. I knew he'd been doing his morning run, but his muscles were toned, and his skin was perfectly tanned due to spending more time at the beach with Elise. My mouth watered the longer I gawked at his body, cheeks heating up at the thought of having him all to myself again. Suddenly, I wanted all our guests gone so I could have my way with my man.
"I'm fine," I pouted, avoiding eye contact.
He smirked, clearly reading where my mind went. Jessica cleared her throat, narrowing her eyes on me. I rolled my eyes and introduced her to Eros.
Eros merely stared at Jessica as though seizing her small frame, regarding her through his sunglass-covered eyes.
"Hey," Jessica said, shifting from one foot to another.
Eros responded with a nod, tipping the beer bottle to his lips. He didn't even say hi and excused himself, then went to greet Clara, Diego, and Jose.
Jessica's cheeks reddened, lips pressing on a thin line as she watched Eros strut away. Nose flaring, she grabbed Chase's beer and chugged the rest of its content.
"I'll go find Georgia," she murmured.
"She's with Rafa," I supplied.
"I'll go..." Jessica bit her lower lip, cheeks turning rich crimson. "I'll just f*****g go!" She whined. Her high-pitched voice grabbed everyone's attention.
"That's two dollars, Aunt Jessica!" Elise reminded Jessica.
I sniggered, giving her my 'I told you so' look. She narrowed her eyes on me.
"Ugh!" She stomped towards the beach, bare foot, her hands clenching and unclenching.
"What's up with her?" Chase asked, stirring me towards the wet bar.
"She thought Eros would be interested in her."
"Want a drink?" Chase went to the other side of the bar, took a glass from the shelf along with sparkling wine, orange juice, vodka, and whiskey.
I hopped on a barstool, making myself comfortable. "What are you making?"
I watched his muscles ripple as he started mixing the drink. "Mimosa."
He looked so hot shirtless. I crossed my legs, feeling a pulse in my center. "Sounds... delicious."
Chase lifted his eyes to me, chuckling. "Mimosa?"
I nodded, humming a yes. Leaning on my elbows, I lowered my voice. "But you look more... delectable, Mr. Montiero."
He looked over my shoulder, spreading his arms on the counter, leaning forward until our faces were only an inch apart. "Is there something you want, Ms. Collins?" his voice dropped a few octaves. "You just have to ask." My lips part, body shaking with need. "I want you to f**k me."
A low growl rumbled from his throat. His grip on the counter's edge tightened. "Ask nicely."
I swallowed hard, darting my tongue out to wet my parched lips. "Please, f**k me."
He pulled back. I drew in a heavy breath; the throbbing in my center intensified with the weight of his stare. "Go to our room and wait for me."
Mind fogged with desire, I slid off my seat and started towards the house.
"Sofia," Chase called. I looked over my shoulder, hands gripping the door frame. "Don't lose that bikini. I'll be the one taking that off you."
