"Are you really that determined to kill me?" Ricky asked. "I did nothing but defraud millions of gold coins from you."

"You've become my inner demon. I have no choice but to kill you. Otherwise, my mind will never be at ease," Pearl said as her tone turned colder.

"I see. It seems one of us really has to die after this temporary alliance. If that doesn't happen, we will both be killed by Henry and the others," Ricky said as he shook his head.

It seemed that he was actually willing to turn their hostility towards each other into friendship.

But obviously Pearl already saw him as a mortal enemy. He was afraid that their conflict would not come to any other end than a fight to the death.

"You have absorbed the energy of the Dark Nether Beast. I wonder what kind of opportunity the Dark Nether Array will bring to us,” Ricky said in an attempt to shift the topic of their conversation. Her tone sounded a little serious with a hint of sincerity.

Ricky's face turned gloomy when he heard her answer. He didn't think Pearl was lying to him at all. "Don't worry. I won't be so greedy as to take half the opportunity from you under the precondition that you're able to obtain your rightful share,” Pearl added in a somewhat sly tone.

"Of course I won't step in."

"What are you talking about, Pearl?" Ricky asked in a deep voice. "Are you saying that you want to drop your benefactor the moment you no longer need my help?”
