Born Almighty Warrior -
Chapter 716 Meeting Errol Again
It was an old man wearing white clothes. Fury could be seen from the serious look on his face. It seemed that he had tried hard but restrained himself from launching an attack to kill Ricky.
Now behind the old man stood two spiritual kings. One was Alexander, who had helped Ricky when he had been in the Casting Guild, and the other was another old man in black clothes. The old man in black clothes looked even more furious than the old man in white clothes.
It was more than obvious to ascertain that the old man in white was the chief of the Casting Guild located in the Earth Fire Land. The way he held himself said it all.
It was highly likely that the chief of the Casting Guild did not care about Mia that much. But Mia was a member of the Casting Guild—his organization after all. Mia's death at Ricky's hands brought nothing but shame to the Casting Guild. The chief could hardly bear it
"You are challenging the Casting Guild young man,” the old man in black said coldly with a serious look on his face.
"Sir, 1 told her clearly that I would kill her with just one strike. But she did not believe me and started the fight. There was nothing I could do but join the fight. It was self-defense,” Ricky said, in explanation.
"It was obvious that she was determined to kill me. I couldn't just wait for her to strike me. I'm not a fool."
"You are now asking for trouble, young man! In the history of the Casting Guild, no one has ever been bullied like this," the old man in black roared with rage. Ricky's explanation irritated him even more.
Then, he channeled his power and launched his energy, ready to hurl a strike against Ricky at any moment.
"My friend from the Casting Guild, please, I urge you to stop it. May I have a word with you? We are now in a competition so please don't interrupt the competition. No matter what happened between you, you can talk about it or fight personally amongst yourselves after the competition is over instead of doing it here right now,” Connor, the leader of the Celestial Army, said to interrupt both of them at that point in time.
His voice was flat yet quite definitive.
The face of the old man in black grew darker when he heard those words. He continued, "Is it righteous to kill somebody here?"
"Killing someone without a righteous reason is not right. That is true. You are right. But this is a competition and I don't remember any rule existing that says that killing is not permitted,” Connor replied, trying to calm the old man in black.
'l was right! The Celestial Army values strength and ability the most. Probably most people did not notice how powerful I was just now. However, he is the leader of the Celestial Army! He must have noticed it! I am sure of it!" Ricky reflected when he heard Connor seemingly support him.
The old man in black realized that he was unable to keep finding fault with Ricky now that the leader of the Celestial Army supported him. So then he asked in a calm tone, "Tell me then, will you protect him if he becomes a member of the Celestial Army?"
"If he really becomes a member of the Celestial Army, I will, of course protect him. But if someone from your Casting Guild also becomes a member of the Celestial Army, I will no longer interfere with the affair,” Connor said confidently.
"I see. Thank you for the explanation, sir," the old man in black said as he slightly bowed. Afterwards, the old man in black and the chief of the Casting Guild withdrew their auras. On the other hand, Alexander took a scrupulous look at Ricky. Somehow, he felt this young man was quite familiar. But when he probed his memories, he did not find anyone matching the young man's face. "Young man! May I know your name?" Connor asked Ricky. By then, he had already considered Ricky to be a member of his force.
"My name is Yori, sir," Ricky replied cautiously.
He could not, of course, say his real name, neither could he use the name of Russell. So he picked a random name from the men he knew. Besides, Yori was not present anyway.
"Yori, I see, I got it," Connor said as he nodded his head a few times as if the name meant something to him.
Afterwards, he declared that the competition was ongoing.
Before long, the top six powerful spiritual kings were approved through the competition. They were Ricky, Errol, the chief of the Casting Guild, the deputy chief of the Imperial Palace of Wildness, and two deputy Shadow Kings of the Endless Shadow. That was all.
Surprisingly, the old man in black was not one of the top six.
So then, he became angrier. What was more, he felt a bit terrified. Ricky becoming a member of the top six powerful warriors indicated that he was more powerful than him. Over and above, during each of Ricky's fights, he overcame his opponent within just three bouts, which implied that he was way stronger than most warriors. That was something the man in black had imagined.
“Damn it. Yori, where are you from on earth? You are so arrogant and aggressive and you even killed a member of our Casting Guild. How could that be?" the old man in black wondered resentfully while staring at Ricky.
As he took a look at Alexander who was next to him, he grew more dispirited as he noticed that Alexander seemed to not care about it at all. "Hey, Alexander, you are a member of the Casting Guild. How is it that you didn't say anything? Mia died so miserably. She would have survived if it were not for that bastard!"
"Well, even you couldn't defeat him, and it would not have made any difference no matter what I would have said or done. Don't you think so? I believe it to be the case,” Alexander replied in a disdainful and scornful tone.
"You..." Alexander's reply provoked the old man in black so much. He wanted to counter-argue back. But he found he did not have enough valid excuses to blame Alexander.
Therefore, he decided to stay silent. His eyes glared at Ricky as he was concentrating on figuring out a way to deal with him. There must be a way.
The battle among the six strongest warriors then began. Ricky was the first who came to the fore to fight. To his surprise, Errol offered to challenge him. Errol was also one of his primary enemies in the Realm of Wildness.
“God is helping me by sending Errol to fight against me! This means that I would soon knock down another enemy! And, after I kill Errol, the Shadow King would become the only primary enemy in the Realm of Wildness, * Ricky thought to himself in a calculating manner.
He would then be able to focus on cultivation without being constantly interrupted after he fixed all the problems in the Realm of Wildness.
Boom! Boom! Ricky and Errol jumped up high in the air. Then they floated, face to face.
All of a sudden, their auras burst forth at the exact same time and reached the limit level of a second-class middle spiritual king.
Ricky actually did not reveal all his strength. He thought it would be better for him to reveal part of his power that was strong enough to make Connor think highly of him.
He would have smashed Errol with just a mere punch if he really revealed his actual strength.
"It seems Yori is as strong as a second-class middle spiritual king! No wonder he killed Mia with just one strike! It all makes sense now!" The onlookers in the surroundings were surprised when they saw that Ricky's energy was as powerful as that of Errol—if not even more powerful.
"Yori, I want you to know that I really don't bear a grudge against you. The fight between us could end as soon as the winner is confirmed without fatality. But, unfortunately, I must kill you," Errol told Ricky telepathically.
"Oh? Is that so? Why? Now I'm confused,” Ricky asked as he was puzzled upon hearing Errol's message.
"It is because I think it is worthwhile to kill you if I can get two inferior-stage spiritual weapons. You see it's nothing personal,” Errol replied during the fight.
"Oh, I see, now I get it," Ricky responded. It all made sense now.
Naturally, Ricky quickly figured out that the old man in black from the Casting Guild must have made some kind of nasty deal with Errol. As he expected, Ricky noticed from the corner of his eye that the old man in black was staring at him with a serious look on his face as if he was plotting something.
However, it did not bother Ricky in anyway. Errol's claim that he would kill Ricky was something that Ricky wanted as well. Furthermore, he was also expecting a fight against Errol and was determined to end Errol's life.
"Well, well, if my guess is right, you have been bribed by two inferior-stage spiritual weapons. But I must say that I hold you in contempt because you are so easily manipulated by other people with just two inferior-stage spiritual weapons. Come on now, you are a middle spiritual king, so act like a man! Please have a little bit more respect for yourself. I now understand why you will never be able to accomplish greater achievements. You are too narrow-minded that you will never be able to see the greater opportunities outside the Realm of Wildness," Ricky commented in a derisive tone of voice.
"You are being too talkative young man. I'm now even more determined to kill you for good. You are going to die very soon at my hands," Errol replied with an angry look on his face upon hearing Ricky's derision.
He immediately employed his internal strength, and in the blink of an eye, he had already appeared in front of Ricky. Meanwhile, he extended a palm in order to forcefully strike Ricky.
