Born Almighty Warrior -
Chapter 756 A Generous Reward
"Why are you always so mean to me?" Ricky sighed with resignation. Although he pretended not to mind it, he actually hated how she treated him.
He was unwilling to hand over the soul-restoring pill but he already gave his word to her. His reluctance showed on his face as he gave her the pill. No matter what he felt about it, he would always honor his promises.
Pearl stopped glaring at Ricky when she received the soul-restoring pill. It seemed to her that Ricky truly was an honorable man who would do as he said. Her face brightened immediately.
"Pearl, why do you want the soul-restoring pill so much?" he asked her curiously.
"I'm sorry but I can't tell you!" she answered as she shifted with discomfort.
"Pearl, do you truly believe that I know nothing about you when you have already cultivated in my Massacring Zone?" Ricky retorted. He had been curious about her for a long time. He had some speculations about her motivation but a straight answer from her would be great.
"Then go ahead.” As soon as she said that, she shut herself up in the Massacring Zone. It was obvious that she was about to refine the soul-restoring pill.
"You have become so confident in yourself. It feels like you don't care about me at all.” Ricky sighed once again but decided to let her go. He respected the fact that it was her secret to keep.
"Tina, I have to stay in the Chaotic Fire Zone to practice weapon casting. Call me after three days, okay?" he asked Tina. He tended to get lost in the task so it was better to have Tina's support.
"I hope you can cast a weapon at the intermediate stage of Spirit Level within three days,” Tina said softly, a hopeful look reflected in her eyes.
"It's not as simple as you might think. Even though I'm confident about it, it's not that easy to get the Heaven Soul Stone," he answered truthfully.
He nodded at her in farewell and went to the Chaotic Fire Zone. Once there, he poured all his attention and energy into casting.
Three days went by in the blink of an eye. The final competition started.
It was held at the casting square of the Casting Center. Overall, twenty candidates participated in the competition. They were casting masters who had managed to enter the fourth and fifth floors of the Soul Tower.
All of them were casting masters of Spirit Level and represented the highest casting level among the younger generation in the whole Eastern Land.
At this time, twenty casting tables had been placed in advance in the middle of the casting square. They were about to cast weapons with the same casting tripods and materials. This competition was to see who had true mastery over the art of casting weapons.
Soon, Ricky and the others had chosen casting tables of their preference.
Three figures came down through the stairway. Ricky looked up at them and recognized two. One was Harrison, the fifth chief of the Casting Center. The other was Cameron, the fourth chief. However, he failed to recognize the third one.
"The three chiefs are attending the event together!" The warriors whispered to each other in surprise.
It was certainly a rare sight; the three casting masters of Demi-sage Level had shown up together. “Then the other must be Sellers, the third chief of the Casting Center, * Ricky thought to himself. His eyebrows quirked up as he observed the older man. Sellers wore a white robe that reached to his feet. His hair was more ashen than gray, slicked back neatly. Ricky felt the strong blood vitality that radiated from him.
Undoubtedly, this man was powerful, even among the other demi-spiritual emperors.
"Ricky, long time no see!” Cameron greeted Ricky through telepathy.
"Long time no see, sir. You still look handsome to this very day!" Ricky replied with a smile.
"How dare you make fun of me!" Cameron teased him. "Alright, we should stop talking any more nonsense for now. Listen, you have to win the Heaven Soul Stone this time."
"Please rest assured, sir. I will do everything in my ability. After all, I came here only for the sole purpose of acquiring the Heaven Soul Stone!”
Ricky assured him. Of course, Cameron was incredibly assured. Who would not be, when he could see the determination that burned in Ricky's eyes? "Okay, let me remind you then. Watch out for that Lynch. He is probably a bigger threat to you than Meade is!" Cameron said seriously. His earlier joking mood was temporarily displaced so that Ricky would realize how deeply concerned he was. "Got it, sir!" Ricky replied as he looked at Lynch from the corner of his eye.
He could guess, after their encounter, that Lynch was probably not a friend of Meade. He was more likely to be a helper hired by Sellers for competing for the Heaven Soul Stone.
"Do you have any idea about who this guy is, sir?" Ricky asked inquisitively.
"I'm not sure. Obviously, Sellers has concealed his identity through all means possible. It would be impossible to find out anything in such a short span of time. Of course, there would be no point in investigating his identity after the competition.”
Cameron sighed. The business with Lynch was a burden and he hated that Sellers was able to hide so much information from him. He felt like he was one-upped by Sellers which irked him greatly. "Well, it seems like I'll have to be more careful,” Ricky replied with a nod
"Gentlemen, we have reached the final stage of the casting competition. Irrespective of the results you end up with today, you will all be officially admitted as official disciples of the Casting Center," Sellers stated as he began the opening speech.
"We will now announce the rewards of the competition!"
These words piqued the audience's attention. All of them wanted to know what the rewards would be, thought they had already known there would be the Heaven Soul Stone for sure.
"The warriors ranked fourth and fifth will be able to cultivate in the Soul Tower for one month. For the third and second place, other than being able to cultivate in the Soul Tower for one month, an additional award will be conferred. They will be permitted to choose a piece of Treasure from Heaven and Earth no higher than the intermediate King Level." Sellers announced. The audience cheered in excitement.
"What a phenomenal surprise! The awards this year completely out-match those from the previous competition!" Many warriors began yearning for the prizes.
"As for the award for first place...”
Sellers stopped momentarily, with the crowd transfixed on his every word.
"It is a Heaven Soul Stone, which will be bestowed on the champion by our second chief, Gorden.” "Wow! Master Gorden will hand over the award in person this time?!" Whispers and murmurs filled the square.
"Yes, Gorden will present the award in person. In addition to that, the champion would be allowed to enter the Soul Tower without any restrictions!" Sellers continued.
"Wow, did you hear that? The champion would also have the freedom to cultivate in the Soul Tower anytime!" Even Ricky and Meade could not stand still as they heard of the wonderful prizes that were in store for the winner.
Everyone had already expected the prizes to be great, but they were thrown off with how remarkable and priceless the prizes were.
Being able to cultivate in the Soul Tower freely was even more astonishing compared to the other prizes. In fact, it was better than the Heaven Soul Stone alone.
Even though the Heaven Soul Stone contained an abundant supply of the refined and condensed spiritual power, there was only one stone to make use of. Nothing would be left when all the energy contained was exhausted.
In contrast, cultivating in the Soul Tower allowed warriors to undergo a significant enhancement in their cultivation.
This was helpful especially if they had not yet become a casting master at the advanced stage of Spirit Level.
"Sir, even if one win the first place, there would be no need to give such a reward, right?" Ricky asked with plain disbelief.
"Sellers has maintained a good relationship with Gorden, and it was a part of Sellers’ requirements. He pushed for it simply because he firmly believes that either Meade or Lynch will win the competition with ease. This is also why I need you to win the first place. Once you win, you will be permanently qualified to cultivate in the Soul Tower indefinitely."
Ricky grinned when he heard that explanation. Sellers would not be pleased. His efforts would be wasted because neither of his bets would win.
"I see. If I win the first place, Sellers would be furious. Will Gorden possibly look for a chance to take vengeance against me? I'm not sure how to feel about that, given that Gorden is not only a spiritual emperor but also a casting master of Demi-sage Level!" Ricky muttered in alarm. He had proven it time and time again. Somehow, he was capable of making enemies without his conscious effort. Some people just loved to hate him.
