Chapter118 Achilles gets snubbed by a wild beast

As the evening approached, the sky was painted with the fiery hues of a sunset, burning passionately with a deep crimson glow.

Master Sylvester Gomez drove the tour vehicle along the path and finally came to a stop on the large lawn behind the stand.

He opened his door, stepped out with his long legs, walked around the front of the vehicle, and opened the passenger door to help Lela out. Their fingers intertwined, Lela lifted her gaze towards the blood-red sky...

But Master Sylvester Gomez leaned in, his body tilting forward as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

His voice was deep, "Like the sunset?"

Resting against his chest, Lela looked down and hummed softly in agreement.

Inside the vehicle, Mildred Gomez felt like a third wheel, practically wishing he could vaporize on the spot.

Nevertheless, he had to get out too. Facing Big White, he tried to negotiate politely, "Big guy, let's head on out, shall we?"

He remembered Josh Fudge's warning. This beast harbored extreme animosity towards humans, so he kept his tone friendly.

With a disdainful look, Big White snorted at him.

Mildred's mouth twitched. He was being looked down upon by a fierce animal, wasn't he?

Mildred opened the door and stepped out timidly.

Big White then descended from the vehicle, each step majestic. Even shackled with chains, the beast emanated contempt, as if no one in the world could hold it down. Imposing and proud.

Holding the other end of the metal chain, Mildred suddenly felt inferior even to an animal.

He was the one holding the chain, he was supposed to be in control, but now it seemed he was the one ensnared, and the one in command was the Big White lion. Resigned to the inevitable, Goy Gomez hurried over from the bleachers, but just as he approached, Big White got into guard mode. Baring his teeth in a menacing snarl, he leaped, even threatening to break the metal chain as he lunged towards Goy.

Mildred Gomez, gripping the metal chain, was caught off-guard by Big White's sudden yank. Losing his footing, he stumbled forward and face-planted into the ground.

Everything happened so fast, and Lela, seeing the chaos, pushed Master Sylvester Gomez aside and yelled, "Big White!"

Before Big White could bite, Lela threw herself onto him, her right hand stroking his fur gently, cooing, "Easy there, Big White, take it easy. He's one of us, one of us."

Hearing his young master, Big White reluctantly withdrew his massive paws from Goy's shoulders, backing away but keeping a wary eye on him, lest he pose any threat to his little master.

Goy, already sprawled and pale on the ground, couldn't muster the strength to rise.

Was he nearly devoured by this lion king?

Goy felt his head might explode with confusion. Who could explain what just happened?

It wasn't until Mildred Gomez picked himself off the ground and helped Goy up that he snapped back to reality.
