Chapter 150 Brave Little Cicery Faces a Blood Draw Without Fear
Hearing that, Steven laughed, gesturing modestly, "Well-managed, sure, but we always have Sylvester to thank for the support, don't we?"
Sylvester Gomez raised an eyebrow, handing his sunglasses to the woman behind him and pressed his lips together, staying silent.
Ethan approached, bowing his head slightly in reverence, "Sir."
Sylvester Gomez nodded slightly, muttering an acknowledgment.
After the pleasantries, the group headed toward the luxury cars waiting on the dock.
Mildred Gomez glanced at Ethan's handsome and clean face as they walked side by side, feeling slightly irritated. "Ethan, the climate here in Auss City sure does wonders, doesn't it? You're looking better and better." Ethan, albeit the youngest and known for his icy demeanor and sharp tongue, simply gave Mildred Gomez a cold glance and replied, "It seems like you've been indulging in Greafury's cuisine quite a bit."
Mildred Gomez frowned, a hint of confusion in his eyes. "Why's that?"
Ethan, rarely one to crack a smile, just shook his head, amused.
He always knew his brother wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
Mildred Gomez flicked her wrist, motioning to Ethan with a hint of menace, "Are you talking trash about me?"
Ethan let out a cold laugh, "Isn't it obvious?"
Before Mildred could retort, Sylvester Gomez shot them both a freezing glance. Ethan quickly backed off, standing up tall. Mildred, startled, straightened up quickly and walked ahead properly.
The respected yet secretive boss Sylvester had made a rare appearance in the city. The leaders of Auss City had prepared a lavish feast at the most luxurious restaurant, with the head chef from the Michelin establishment taking charge of the meal.
A group of people got into their cars and departed.
...
In Central city, Cicery swiftly procured an express permit and then rushed to the Blood Research Institute.
Doctor White, brimming with excitement, quickly ushered Cicery to see his latest scientific discovery.
In the petri dish was a derivative extremely similar to a peptide; beside it lay Doctor White's detailed structural diagram.
Cicery, musing over the diagram, inquired, "Is this your monumental discovery?"
Doctor White stared in admiration at Cicery's breathtaking visage that could put any celebrity to shame, and her flawless, snowy skin, "It's no surprise you look so radiant, Cicery. This compound might be the key; its effects are remarkably strong. Do you think it's possible you won't age because of it?"
Cicery pondered for a moment, then set the diagram aside and looked straight at Doctor White, "Is this the only compound you've found?"
She couldn't believe that was all there was. Back in the Unbounded Peak lab where she underwent genetic modification, she endured immense torment; surely, there were many other undiscovered elements within her. She was intent on unearthing all of them.
Touching his beard, Doctor White nodded, "So far, it's the only one, probably due to... insufficient blood samples."
Cicery raised an eyebrow, rolled up her sleeve to reveal her smooth arm, and strolled towards the blood draw room. She glanced at Doctor White and said firmly, "Let's proceed with the blood draw."
Her declaration was bold and spirited, yet her eyes shone with an unmistakable brilliance.
Doctor White sighed softly, walked over, and personally drew the blood from Cicery.
After sanitizing the area, he secured a tourniquet around her arm and gently inserted the needle into her vein. Crimson blood flowed through the clear tube and began to fill the blood bag.
"Let's go with 400ml today," she suggested, her tone firm yet measured by the situation. Normally, she would opt for half that amount, but times were changing. She was about to start a new chapter at Greafury, and being near Sylvester Gomez meant her visits here would be few and far between.
Dr. White paused at Cicery's request, a flicker of surprise crossing his face before he could mask it. Without a word, though, he proceeded with the procedure, his experienced hands betraying no hesitation.
