Chapter 18 Picky Little One
The dozen or so managers stood up straighter as the pair approached.
Michael looked at those idiots, stunned. Why weren't they immediately displaying the finished clothes? What were they doing?
Didn't they know how to do business?
Did the boss make them that afraid?
Michael walked over and whispered, "What are you doing? Hurry up and display your clothes!"
Only then did the managers react and quickly instructed their subordinates to bring the dozens of items over.
The staff, dressed in neat suits with meticulous grooming, pushed in the display racks from outside.
Row by row, column by column, neat and orderly.
In no time, the entire reception hall of the Gomez mansion was filled with outfits from major international brands.
Dresses, pants, shirts, skirts, all in haute couture... Like a display of high-end ready-to-wear garments. Chanel, Armani, Prada, Givenchy, and other renowned international brands were all on display for Lela to choose from. Sylvester gently tapped her shoulder. "Pick whatever you like. If you like them all, take them all."
Lela casually glanced over, not wanting to dampen Sylvester's enthusiasm. She walked past, just taking a look here and there. The managers were hoping for Lela's approval. As long as she touched the clothes, their hearts were praying. However, after browsing through row after row Lela lost even more interest. None of these were to her liking. They were overly glamorous but lacked the desired texture. Too rough or itchy and wearing them would be uncomfortable. Sylvester approached Lela and whispered, "Don't like any of them?"
Lela shook her head sadly in agreement.
With a wave of his hand, Sylvester discarded those items.
The managers left with dejected faces, taking their staff along with them.
Ashlee sat watching the interaction in silence. She had initially come to see Charlie but unexpectedly witnessed this process.
Not satisfied with any of them? It should be noted that even an ordinary piece from these top brands cost several thousand dollars, if not tens or hundreds of thousands.
Most importantly, Sylvester was surprisingly patient with the girl. From Ashlee's impression, her nephew had never been a patient person. The infinite care with which he paid the girl was remarkable.
Was Sylvester spoiling this girl a bit too much, though?
Lela passed over a few more options and finally saw a brand standing at the very end of the room. She gently touched it, feeling the texture and an exquisite craftsmanship she liked. Perfect.
Almost instantly, she made up her mind.
Sylvester smirked. "Do you like this one?"
She nodded emphatically.
The manager of the brand was the calmest among them. He bowed and addressed Sylvester, "Mr. Gomez."
Sylvester nodded, and Michael quickly approached, discussing with the manager, "From now on, every quarter, whether it's ready-to-wear or haute couture, as long as there are sizes available, send them to the Gomez first." The manager of Starlit Brand nodded... "Mr. Gomez is currently our biggest client at Starlit. We will ensure customer satisfaction."
Upon hearing this, Ashlee Gomez exclaimed, "Starlit? You are from Starlit Brand."
The manager felt puzzled, but since this was Ashlee Gomez, he dared not be offensive. "Yes, Ashlee. Do you have any questions?"
Ashlee was born in Central City so she was very attuned to the local up-and-coming fashion designers...
The Gomez, and particularly Ashlee who has experienced various ups and downs in the business world for many years, have witnessed all sorts of situations. However, this time Ashlee lost her composure.
She quickly waved her hand, "I have just admired Starlit for a long time. Practically since your founding"
The manager smiled respectfully, "Thank you for your favor, Ms. Ashlee."
It wasn't surprising though. Starlit Design suddenly rose to fame several years ago, and their haute couture dresses were highly sought after by royal families and major households worldwide.
Three years ago, Starlit made a name for itself in the international fashion industry with a showstopping fashion show, where the Eastern Queen haute couture dress stole the spotlight.
At that time, numerous media outlets both domestically and internationally clamored to report on it, causing a short crash of Pliar's microblog.
Since then, the international fashion scene gained another contender: Starlit. With its remarkable success, Starlit single-handedly propelled Pliar's fashion industry to new heights, silencing any European mockery towards it. Some royal families even wanted to monopolize the brand, commissioning Starlit exclusively for designing dresses for their female members attending international events. However, Starlit, as an outstanding force in Pliar's fashion community, resolutely declined.
Even A-list domestic actresses often struggled to borrow Starlit's dresses, let alone those who were considered B- or C-list stars, as Starlit's haute couture was exorbitantly expensive.
A regular T-shirt from their collection could cost two hundred thousand dollars.
What's more, Starlit had an exceptionally famous designer who was the mastermind behind the Eastern Queen, the haute couture dress that caused a global sensation on the internet. Numerous people desired to catch a glimpse of her and find out what kind of genius could design such dresses. However, it seemed that besides the owner of Starlit, no one had ever seen her. Ashlee knew all of this because she was, after all, a woman, and there were no women in this world who didn't love beautiful things.
Knowing about this brand, she had tried to establish a relationship with their company but only ended up disappointed. Starlit didn't even meet face-to-face with the royal family, let alone her.
Unexpectedly, the Starlit manager told her nephew they would arrange for someone to deliver their clothing to the house directly. She still couldn't understand what her nephew's occupation was. How did he manage a feat of this magnitude? Sylvester had some knowledge about this brand and chuckled, "The little one is quite picky, but she has good taste." She had picked the most expensive designer that showed up today. The little one truly had a unique eye for fashion.
Lela happily laughed and held Sylvester's hand, swaying back and forth, thrilled at the degree to which she had been spoiled. Michael sighed beside them and muttered, "Miss Lela sure knows how to spend money."
From top to bottom, her entire wardrobe would be from Starlit. Miss Lela was truly able to burn through it without much thought.
