Captivated by the Ruler of the Underworld -
Chapter 309 Lela Lied
Swiftly concealing the small tool, Lela leaned into Sylvester's arms, shutting her eyes and feigning unconsciousness.
Sylvester held Lela, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the small tool in her hand.
In this world, the only organization capable of possessing such precise tools was the Illusionist Guild.
Even the Dragon Gang once posted a collaboration intention on the Illusionist Guild's internal network, but the Illusionist Guild did not cooperate with any external organizations. The Dragon Gang's higher-ups had engaged in patient negotiations, but the Illusionist Guild remained unbending.
And so, the matter ended there.
Sylvester couldn't help but look down at the fainting Lela in his arms and walked towards the car parked in the distance.
Mildred watched Sylvester's silent back, feeling a bit puzzled.
Although Sylvester doted on Lela, with his personality, he would usually pretend to scold Lela harshly for such behavior.
But this silent demeanor was something Mildred had never seen before.
The other bodyguards looked at each other, feeling that this wasn't the Sylvester they knew.
Back in the car, Sylvester held Lela, letting her lie in his arms.
He remained silent, refraining from questioning Lela or uttering a word. Occasionally, he playfully pinched her cheek with his left hand, while his right hand casually rested on the armrest of the seat. Leaning back into the rear seat, his gaze remained fixed upon Lela's face. His anger smoldered within him.
Lela lay in Sylvester's arms, her right cheek pressed against his chest, feeling the rhythmic beating of his heart.
She grew increasingly uneasy.
Something was off.
If it were before, Sylvester would have already used his special way to punish her harshly, but this time, he did nothing but pinch her face.
She had jumped from such a high-arched building.
Growing more nervous, she felt that Sylvester was thinking of other ways to punish her.
Her fingers clenched tighter.
At that moment, Lela heard Sylvester's voice in her ear. "How long are you going to keep pretending like that?"
Lela pursed her lips, then slowly opened her eyes, shifted her position, and straddled Sylvester's lap, her slender hands pressing against his chest. She looked up at Sylvester and smiled. "Sylvester, what were you doing there?" She really hadn't expected Sylvester to come and to be waiting so precisely below.
Sylvester peered down at Lela's enchanting face, her seated form atop his lap, suppressing his anger as he smiled and replied, "Naturally, I was there to catch my beloved."
Lela saw the smile that didn't reach Sylvester's eyes and felt nervous. She was sure that Sylvester was very angry this time!
What to do?
Sylvester watched Lela's beautiful eyes darting around, continued smiling, then raised his left hand, revealing the precise grappling tool in his large palm, and said, "I never expected you to jump down with this." Lela looked at the tool, her mouth twitching, a flash of panic in her eyes. "Robert gave me a long time ago."
Indeed, the Illusionist Guild didn't cooperate with any organizations, but they never said they wouldn't have private dealings.
But she was lying.
She could have many roles, but one of those roles she couldn't let Sylvester know about was her role as an assassin with blood on her hands.
