Captivated by the Ruler of the Underworld -
Chapter 398 Sylvester Is Back
Shortly after, he overheard Sylvester urgently ordering preparations for their return to Pliar.
He was puzzled at first, but then he heard Sylvester's raspy voice say, "I have a feeling something's happened to Lela. I don't care how you do it, just get us back ASAP." Robbie wanted to suggest confirming it first, but seeing Sylvester's worried face, he kept quiet. He knew how much Sylvester cared for Lela.
Without a word, he quickly got ready for the trip back.
From the Island Nation's helicopter to the Aurora Isle's chopper, air traffic control cleared their path all the way to the Pliar border. The Gomez family helicopter was waiting there to pick them up. They didn't waste a second.
Even Elvis and Richael were on edge.
He thought something terrible had happened, but Lela was safe.
He felt relieved.
At the dorm entrance, the usually stern dorm manager was surprisingly respectful.
Sylvester came out holding Lela, who was wrapped in a pink blanket. As he passed the dorm manager, he asked, "Has Lela been acting strange lately?"
The dorm manager replied calmly, "Except for the first day of school when she came back late, everything's been normal."
Lela had gone to a financial summit that night, which Sylvester knew about.
But neither Sylvester nor the dorm manager knew that Lela had discovered the dorm manager was a bodyguard sent by Sylvester. So, she started sneaking out through the window. Sylvester nodded and headed to the parked Maybach with Lela in his arms.
Robbie quickly opened the car door.
They drove straight back to Dragon Manor.
At the Greafury City police department, in the forensic lab, due to the severity of the case, Hubert personally handled the autopsy.
Meanwhile, the racing event organizer, James, sat in the interrogation room, looking uneasy.
Mark came over with a cup of water and handed it to James, "James, don't be nervous. We're just following procedure. Cooperate with us, and as long as you're honest, you'll be fine. "You're a smart guy; you know what to do."
Though calm, his words carried a hint of threat.
James took the water and gulped it down, "Mark from Greafury PD, top detective, no doubt."
This incident, with both the helicopter and the race car crashing and even an iron chain on the helicopter, clearly indicated something was very wrong.
If it was a personal vendetta, it wouldn't be this serious. If it involved foreign forces and Pliar hadn't been informed, the situation could get unpredictable.
As the event organizer, it wasn't surprising he was under suspicion.
James took another sip of water, feeling calmer, "Mark, ask away. I won't hide anything."
Mark, with a serious expression, sat across from James while an officer stood by with paper and pen.
After a few simple questions, which James answered earnestly, Mark had a basic understanding of the incident.
He crossed his hands on the table and stared at James, "James, only three charred male bodies were found at the bottom of the mountain road, not the female you mentioned. Can you describe the girl's appearance?" James didn't even need to think and quickly said, "She was tall, extremely beautiful, but seemed young. The most distinctive feature was her silver-colored contact lenses. I dare say, the entertainment industry pales in comparison to her beauty."
Suddenly, Mark thought of the police department's chief female forensic scientist, Edwards.
