Captivated by the Ruler of the Underworld
Chapter 40 Are You Jealous?

Burl nudged Trenton with his elbow, "Is this our little sister-in-law?"

She's too outstanding, isn't she? Her presence in his company would definitely bring him huge profits.

Trenton huffed, "The real deal, no deception."

Ignoring the looks from others, Sylvester took Lela's hand and walked towards Trenton and Burl.

Burl immediately put on a smile, "Hello, sister-in-law. I'm Master Sylvester's brother, but you can also call me brother."

Lela looked up at Burl and smiled.

Sylvester glanced coldly, "You certainly know how to take advantage."

How could he possibly let someone call him "brother"!

Burl quickly backed down, "No, no, no, Master Sylvester, I was just kidding. You can call me Burl, sister-in-law. Come, have a seat here."

Trenton scolded, "Have some dignity."

Burl glared at him but remained silent.

What does this macho man understand?!

He's being obsequious.

"But," Sylvester glanced up, "she has good taste."

This statement silently acknowledged the address Burl had used, calling her "sister-in-law."

Charley, Mildred, and Goy walked over.

"Trenton, Burl."

Burl knew what was going on and patted Trenton's shoulder, resuming a serious tone, "You're in good shape, seems like there's no major issue. You frightened us." Charley nodded, "Burl was worried."

Trenton arranged everything to bring bad luck to Charley.

Charley had originally thought that he would be the center of attention, but now it seemed like his brother and his sister-in-law were stealing the limelight. Sylvester pulled Lela along and sat on the custom-made leather sofa, keeping her close.

Trenton couldn't help but ask, "Master Sylvester, what's her name?"

Lela looked at Sylvester, and he took out a small piece of cake and handed it to Lela. He replied to Trenton, "Lela."

Burl nodded and then realized, "Sister-in-law doesn't talk?"

Lela had just taken a bite of the cake and smiled when she heard the question but chose not to answer.

She doesn't speak for the time being.

Sylvester glanced at Burl and his tone remained unchanged, "Lela just doesn't like to talk."

His little thing will speak someday.

Burl immediately raised his hand and tapped his own mouth, "I won't say anything anymore."

Burl thought, it seems that Master Sylvester really takes good care of this little sister-in-law, even though she doesn't speak. It's a pity. Finley overheard and smirked.

So, she's just mute.

As other gentlemen came forward to offer toasts, someone also wanted to toast to Lela, but Burl suddenly leapt forward intervening the impending situation... With a single kick he bellowed, "Didn't you notice that the little girl is still young? What are you thinking toasting her with alcohol? Have you no brain?"

The others were silent, shock coursing through their veins, they did not have enough courage to utter a single word more.

After finishing the small slice of cake, Lela polished off a plate of fruits.

Seeing this, Finley and her friends gossiped amongst each other.

"Why does she eat so much? Isn't she afraid of gaining weight?"

"You mind your own business. Maybe she was poor before and didn't have good food to eat. Now that she's with Master Sylvester, she has to eat enough to make up for it. Right, Finley?" Finley remained silent.

The Sylvester family had a powerful background, and they couldn't afford to offend them.

Finley wanted to go talk to Master Sylvester, but the incident from last time still cast a shadow against her. What if Master Sylvester ignored her? It would be embarrassing with so many children from prestigious families present. Eleanor looked over at Lela and quite liked her. She was straightforward and found women's gatherings extremely boring, so she walked over to Charley.

"Raymond, you should be alright now, right?"

Charley glanced at her, stretched his arms and shook them, "Strong as ever."

Eleanor couldn't believe her eyes, looking at Charley's perfectly fine body, "Raymond, I thought you would at least have a cast or bandages. I didn't expect you to recover so quickly!"

Eleanor recalled, "You were a bloody mess during the race."

It hadn't even been a week, and he was already back to normal. His skin had also recovered remarkably fast.

Upon hearing this, Charley pulled Eleanor closer and covered her mouth, looking nervous as he glanced at his brother, "Don't make a big deal out of it. If my brother finds out I secretly raced, he'll kill me."
