Chapter 407 Get It for Me?

"Don't... don't touch there."

"Where? You gotta tell me, darling."

"I don't wanna bathe, Sylvester. Let go of me."

"No way, you're all sweaty. You need to wash up. If you catch a cold, I'll be worried sick."

She thought, 'Bullshit!

'I'm a Mutant; I won't catch a cold.'

"Let go of me, you jerk."

"Be a good girl!"

The whole bath was a game of Lela dodging and Sylvester catching, but his tone stayed gentle.

Lela, already feeling weak, found herself completely drained by the end of it.

After finally finishing the bath, Lela was exhausted and didn't want to move.

Once she stopped squirming and appeared to be more compliant, Sylvester lifted her out of the water, wrapped her in a towel, and carried her out.

With autumn settling in, the weather in Greafury City had turned chilly.

Sylvester grabbed a warm yellow plush sweater from Lela's wardrobe and paired it with a light-colored long tulle skirt, a regular autumn release from Starlit Group. Though the design was conventional, it was worth a lot.

Wrapped in a towel, Lela sat adorably on the bed, her face flushed, irresistibly captivating.

Sylvester brought the clothes over, ruffled Lela's soft hair, and said dotingly, "No more fuss?"

Lela turned her head, "I wasn't making a fuss."

She reached out, "Help me get dressed."

She really didn't want to move; she was too tired!

Sylvester looked at Lela's commanding look and laughed, "Alright, I'll serve my little princess."

With that, he gently helped Lela get dressed.

As Lela snuggled into Sylvester's embrace, she didn't notice the hint of concern in his eyes.

He thought, 'Lela's never been like this before. Something must have happened to her. And those dirt patches I saw in the dorm last night-they definitely weren't from Holy Light Elite Academy. 'I'd checked out Holy Light Elite Academy thoroughly before Lela came. So, what exactly happened during my absence?'

He decided to put those thoughts aside for now, focusing on letting Lela enjoy her breakfast first.

After dressing her, Sylvester carried Lela downstairs. Lela let him carry her, even taking Sylvester's glasses off his face and putting them on her own, "Look, do I look good with glasses?" Sylvester held her with one hand and glanced sideways, "You look good no matter what."

Lela laughed even more happily, holding Sylvester's face, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek.

Sylvester's eyes crinkled with laughter as he allowed her affectionate gesture, enjoying the moment.

After eating, Sylvester took Lela to the lawn outside to bask in the sun. The grass was covered with soft fabric, with delicate pastries and fruits placed on it, and freshly picked flowers on the side. The servants stood respectfully nearby, ready to be summoned at any time.

Lela lay on Sylvester's lap, holding a small cherry, eyes closed, sorting through the events of the past few days.

She pondered, 'Yesterday, who were the people on that helicopter? Were they really from The Immortal Man?

'Today, Vanessa came to report to Sylvester, saying he helped Hubert detect some of the same toxins as before!

'What does that mean?

'If Hubert personally got involved, it must be related to last night's car crash case. I've investigated Joseph's background before; he was too ordinary. The toxins cann't have been detected from him, so they must have been detected from the people on that helicopter.

'Could it be that Sylvester knows those people long ago?'

She wanted to ask Hubert, but her phone was broken in the car crash.

Lela opened her eyes, pursed her lips, and shifted to lie comfortably on Sylvester's lap. She held the cherry playfully, and with a touch of whimsy, she asked, "Sylvester, if I wanted something, would you get it for me?"

Sylvester looked down at Lela lying in his arms and said, "Of course."

Lela raised her hand and poked Sylvester's chest, shaking the cherry in her hand, "Then can I get a new phone?"

The reason she said this was because her previous phone was a limited edition from Rino Technique, and her white model was the only one in the world.

If it were any other ordinary phone, she would have had her subordinates buy a new one.

Lela sighed, realizing that the most expensive wasn't always the best.
