Chapter 46 You Ugly as a Wrongful Case
Goy cast a disgusted look at the two individuals, giving a cold sneer. He faced Finley and Nelda, "So, you're telling me Miss Lela hit you both and intentionally made herself look that way, and then blamed you for it, right?" Finley was terrified, vigorously nodding while tears poured down like rain. "Yes, that's exactly what happened, Master Sylvester. You already warned me, how could I possibly go bother her again? You have to believe me."
Sylvester squatted down, towering over Finley due to their height difference. He stared at her with deep, dark eyes, exuding an intoxicating aura, which made Finley feel almost insane. It had been a while since she was this close to him, and an almost dazed expression appeared on her face.
"Tell me, why did she hit you?"
As he spoke, his tone resembled that of a man inquiring his own woman, asking who hurt you, tell me, I'll help you seek revenge.
Even Finley was drawn into it.
Only to quickly realize and be frightened by the realization.
No, he wasn't seeking revenge for her. Clearly, he was on that despicable woman's side, wanting to deal with her.
He didn't believe her, he didn't believe Lela was the one who bullied her.
Finley's face turned pale, unsure how to respond.
"Speak."
Sylvester scolded, causing Finley to tremble all over in fear.
"Do I look like a patient man to you?" Sylvester licked his canine tooth and put on a fierce demeanor that terrified everyone present.
"I admit I cursed at her first, but she hit and cursed back at me. We've already settled it, Master Sylvester. You can't be so biased towards her. After all, I've grown up with you, we're childhood friends," Finley pleaded, even resorting to appealing to their emotional connection.
Nelda nodded frantically by her side, "That's right, Master Sylvester. I can testify that she bullied me too."
"Hmph!" Sylvester sneered, "You said she cursed at you?"
Others laughed at the remark. Goy stepped forward, "Our Miss Lela doesn't even know how to speak. Curse at you? Just how capable of manipulation do you think you are? "
Seeing that everyone, including Sylvester, was being deceived by Lela, Finley seized her chance. She revealed all the little quirks and feelings shared between Lela and Master Sylvester. She had fooled everyone.
Excitedly, she exclaimed, "Master Sylvester, Lela can speak. She fooled all of you. She clearly cursed at me."
"Where's the evidence? Present your proof," Goy detested women who obstinately insisted on their lies. Evidence!
Where could she get evidence from?
However, Eleanor timely chimed in, "Finley, you've spun quite the tale."
Finley didn't know what Eleanor was up to, but her instincts made her feel uneasy.
And as expected, Eleanor finished her sentence.
"Master Sylvester, when I came in, I saw Finley and Nelda bullying Lela, pushing her head into the basin and trying to tear off her clothes. I couldn't stand it, so I intervened and hit both of them. But before I could help little Lela, you all came in."
Eleanor lied without batting an eye, simply recounting what had happened. She pointed at Finley and Nelda and started berating them, "You two idiots! How dare you bully Lela when she can barely speak! You're digging your own graves, you two ugly and foolish pigs!"
Upon hearing Eleanor's vulgar tirade, Trenton couldn't bear to watch and quickly pulled her back. "If you're going to insult people, at least do it without using profanity."
Eleanor pushed Trenton's hand away, displeased. "You're finding fault with me, huh?"
Trenton replied, "...How could I find fault with you, you little troublemaker."
"Ah! Troublemaker, why are you taking food to the bathroom?" Charley's voice came through.
Everyone turned around and saw Lela chewing on a piece of strawberry mousse, running over from the corridor. Charley was trailing behind her helplessly, trying to catch up.
Startled, Lela squeezed past them and ran to Sylvester's side, swallowing the mousse in her mouth and rubbing her eyes against him.
Dog man, I want to sleep.
Sylvester already felt indebted to Lela because of the incident, and if she wanted to sleep, then nothing else mattered.
Holding Lela's hand, he was about to leave.
Finley started causing trouble again. Everyone seemed to be siding with Lela, and she couldn't accept that, really couldn't. She screamed after Sylvester's figure, "Why? I love you so much, why can't you trust me? Can't you see the tiniest bit of true affection from me? What does this Lela, have that I don't?"
In her heart, Lela rolled her eyes at her. This sister really wanted to die, but she couldn't do anything about it.
Sylvester turned slightly, a smirk on his lips, tinged with mockery. "Your ugliness is like an unsolved case. Compared to her, you're not a match!"
A double entendre.
Finley sadly realized that she understood it.
He wanted to tell her that even if she was wronged, he would still unhesitatingly favor Lela...
