Chapter 51 Is the little sister-in-law a baby who just learned to speak?
In the restaurant downstairs, Lela was enjoying her meal when she saw Charley rushing down from upstairs and sitting opposite her with an angry look, as if someone owed him something. This child...
Suddenly, Eleanor sent a message, "Raymond, at the beginning of this month, there will be midterm exams. The class leader said they would be quite difficult. Keep your composure." Damn it!
He actually forgot about the midterms.
In an instant, he became even angrier.
Lela looked up at him for a moment, pushed her plate towards him, and uttered a word, "Eat."
Charley was sulking, and when he heard this, he looked at Lela in disbelief, "You...you can speak now?"
Lela took a bite of the crab bun, swallowed, and nodded, "Mhmm."
"How can you speak?" Charley couldn't believe it. "Little sister-in-law, I thought you couldn't speak."
"She just learned to speak," Sylvester's voice came from beside the stairs.
Charley laughed, "Is the little sister-in-law a baby who just learned to speak."
After saying that, he felt that something was wrong and immediately stopped smiling.
His brother didn't value his own life, he couldn't just forgive him like this.
Lela glanced at Charley and then at Sylvester. Something seemed off between these two.
At this moment, the butler brought the medicine over and handed it to Charley, "Raymond, your medicine."
Following that was a whiff of medicinal scent.
This was the witch medicine that Mr. Watson had prepared for Charley according to Lela's method, to replenish his energy and nourish his blood.
"Raymond, drink it while it's hot. This is the medicine Master Sylvester obtained for you from Dr. Watson."
While staring at the medicine, Charley's anger dissipated. Who was he to be angry at his own brother when he hadn't taken good care of himself either? He picked the medicine up and drank it.
"You've rested enough, let's go back to school today," Sylvester said, sitting next to Lela and offering her an egg tart, but Lela didn't even look at him.
Charley responded with a dull "Hmm." After finishing the meal, Charley went to pack his luggage. He usually didn't rely on servants to do it for him; he preferred to do it himself.
At that moment, Mildred approached, carrying a thick stack of documents. He had worked all night to organize them and even nearly gone bald in the process. "Sir, these are background information and interpersonal records of all the top schools in Greafury city, from kindergarten to high school," Mildred explained.
Since Miss Lela couldn't speak, she was unsure where her master wanted to send her, so she gathered information on all the good schools just to be safe.
Kindergarten? A flock of crows flew overhead as Lela pondered. Was she only capable of going to a kindergarten simply because she couldn't speak?
Sylvester glanced at the information and immediately selected the kindergarten. He turned his head and looked at Lela. "Little one, I think this school is pretty good. What do you think?"
Children have simple minds, and she won't be mistreated there.
Lela remained silent. Did she look like she had an intellectual disability?
Realizing that the little one didn't like it, Sylvester gently patted her head and said, "Alright, dear, if you don't like it, we'll choose another one."
In the private area of Central city airport, Elvis and a heavily pregnant Richael came to see them off. Before boarding the plane, Sylvester glanced at Elvis and said, "Elvis, you should take care of yourself more even when dealing with the Sylvesters."
Elvis looked at Sylvester, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Sylvester, what are you talking about?"
Sylvester gazed into the distance, his tone calm and unhurried. "It wasn't your fault when I went missing at the age of ten. You don't need to punish yourself and separate yourself from the Sylvesters."
After Sylvester disappeared, Elvis withdrew from the Sylvesters core industries, refusing any involvement, all to prove that he was not the mastermind behind kidnapping his own nephew for the sake of taking over the Sylvesters in the future. But more importantly, it was an act of redemption. If he had been more careful back then, would Sylvester have been kidnapped?
Did he not have that dark experience if it weren't for Raymond's involvement?
"Don't you understand? It was Raymond's doing that harmed me. You don't need to blame yourself."
He had suspicions from the beginning, but, lacked concrete evidence. Later, he found the mastermind behind it all, which is why he kept Raymond around until now.
Through Raymond's recent actions, he had his subordinates organize his belongings and discovered that he had been kidnapped by human traffickers in the past, with Raymond's involvement.
Although Raymond wasn't the main mastermind, he was still an accomplice.
