“Okay.” In agreement, he nodded.

When he saw Rachel’s attire, he said,

“Going somewhere, Mommy?”

“Yep.”

Right away, Joey took her arm and said, “Mommy, would you take me with you?” He looked up at her expectantly.

Seeing the desire in his eyes, Rachel hesitated to reject him.

She hadn’t spent much time with Joey because she was preoccupied with the affairs of Bennet Group and subsequently because Wallace had shown up.

Joey was abducted not too long ago, too.

Because of her fear, she wouldn’t allow him to go outside.

After gently releasing his hand, Rachel knelt down to face him.

“Got it.” After seeing Rachel’s expression, Joey realized the answer was no.

“Okay, but you have to get back to me sooner than Later.

I’ll stay at home and wait for you.”

Joey knew Rachel was worried about his safety and decided not to insist on it.

Because he was so kind and reasonable, Rachel felt guiltier.

“Hey, I’m so sorry, Joey.

I haven’t been able to provide enough company recently.” Rachel gently patted his head.

“It won’t be long, however.

After I wrap up this situation, I’ll gladly take you wherever you want.”

“Okay.”

A grin forming on her face, Rachel opened her arms wide.

Joey flung himself into her arms and said, “It doesn’t matter as long as I can be with Mommy.”

Rachel reached up and lightly patted the back of his head.

Rachel hurriedly left the house.

Joey quickly retreated to the balcony where he could see her vehicle go.

After the gate had shut, he finally picked up the tablet.

The image on the tablet was the entrance to their home.

It turned out he’d linked the tablet to the gate’s surveillance system.

Just a few leaves rustled sometimes in the air, and that was all the activity that was the outside.
