Joey crossed his arms over his chest opposite Hector and asked casually, “Is there any benefit in being your apprentice?”

“Of course, there are a lot of benefits,” Hector said without hesitation.

“Once people know you are my apprentice, they will think highly of you.

They will even get jealous.”

“If I do something wrong and get caught, will I be let go by telling them that I’m your apprentice?” Joey asked as his eyes flickered with mischief.

“I can be a powerful person even without being your apprentice,” Joey said proudly.

Hector couldn’t find the words to refute.

Joey was the cleverest of the boys his age that Hector had ever met.

No wonder he was Victor’s son.
