Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1459
Even though Joey hid behind Carson, Victor recognized his son at a glance and stiffened at the sight of him.
“What are you doing back there, kid? Come in,” Hector said calmly, his anger dying down after realizing Victor was stunned to see his son.
Joey hesitated for a moment before walking into the room and standing next to Hector.
Victor’s eyes narrowed at Hector as he asked suspiciously, “Why is he with you here?”
“Because he’s my apprentice,” Hector said smugly.
When he noticed the surprise in Victor’s eyes, he felt more victorious.
He flashed a taunting smirk at Victor as if to say, “Look how smart your son is.
He accepted me as his master, unlike his arrogant father!”
“What can you teach him?” Victor regarded him coldly.
Enraged by what he heard, Hector’s eyes widened.
“Are you Looking down on me?”
Victor didn’t utter a word.
Instead, he turned to look at Joey.
With pursed lips, Joey incidentally met his gaze, but he swiftly looked away.
Victor opened his mouth to ask something but someone suddenly opened the door.
“It’s so lively here!” Dewayne had finished processing the procedures before coming in.
However, he realized there was tension in the air.
He fell into silence after noticing that Hector was glaring at him.
He faked a cough and held out the papers in front of him.
“The bailing process is complete.
You can now go, Mr.
Sullivan.
But until this matter gets results from the investigation, you can’t Leave
Apilaria.”
Dewayne dropped the documents on the table.
Hector retorted crossly, “Look at him.
He’s too feeble to even move around.
You don’t have to worry about him leaving this city.”
Since he was pissed off by the way Victor was treating him coldly,
Hector took out his displeasure on Dewayne.
Of course, Dewayne felt a little resentful.
He had been fluttering about in the station to get things done, yet he ended up getting scolded.
Carson held back his laughter and patted the poor guy on the shoulder.
“Let’s go out for a smoke.”
It was only natural that Dewayne wanted to escape, so he was eager to agree with Carson’s suggestion and stepped out of the detention room with him.
Now, only three people were left in the room.
