Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1486
“She was doing just fine a couple of days ago.
She even told me to find her a house with a garden so that she and her child could play in it after he was born.”
While he was still talking, he tasted something salty.
Tears rolled down Quintin’s cheek and touched his lips.
His entire face was wet.
“Mr.
Riley, please sign the paper.
Every passing minute could turn out to be very crucial as regards saving the patient.” The doctor was used to being in situations like this one and knew full well that time was of the essence.
He was losing it making explanations.
Quintin’s hand shook while he was about to sign on the paper.
The tip of the pen was trembling.
Tears welled up in his eyes and before he knew it, a drop fell on what he had written, such that it instantly became blurred.
The doctor noticed it.
Still, he turned around to go back to the operating room as fast as he could.

Before he took another step, Quintin grabbed his arm.
“Take this.
Please give it to her.” He handed over a wooden board he brought out of his pocket to the doctor.
The doctor collected it from him.
Without asking any further questions, he replied, “Okay.
We will do our best to save her.”
“Please, you have to,” Quintin answered in a low tone, with his gaze fixed on the doctor’s face.
By this time, his eyes were almost bloodshot.
After saying that, he let go of him hesitantly.
A few seconds later, the door of the operation room was shut again.
It remained that way for a longer period of time.
At this juncture, Quintin was low-spirited.
He sat on the floor while leaning his back against a wall.
Sunlight sneaked through the windows and shone on his hands.
Normally, he would have felt the warmth.
But not at that instant.
To him, everything seemed so cold.
With his eyes closed and hands clasped, he soliloquized, “Boss, you have to come out of this safely.
I’ve found the house you asked me to.
It has a small garden as you asked.
All I need right now is your signature.”
Counting from the day Rachel was pushed into the operating room, it was now five days.
The surgery ended at 3:40 p.m.
on the sixth day.
Within that period of time, three doctors took turns to operate on her.
On seeing the doctor walking toward him, Quintin stood up.
He had barely slept in all those days.
Not knowing what to expect, he was at a loss for words.
“It’s a miracle!” The doctor knew what he wanted to ask.
“The patient is out of danger for now.”
The statement brought a smile to Quintin’s face.
It was the first one since the operation.
He felt relieved.
“But that’s not all.
There is something you need to be mentally prepared for,” the doctor added.
Immediately Quintin heard that; he felt as if a shiver ran down his spine.
There was a serious look on the doctor’s face as he continued to talk.
