Hector rushed to him with the help of his cane and asked, “Doctor, how did it go? How is he?”

“He is out of danger for now, but if the high fever persists, it may stop his brain from receiving oxygen.

And if that happens, he may likely fall into a coma.”

The doctor pursed his lips and nodded.

As the doctor turned and left, Hector watched him in disbelief and fear.

Shortly after, Victor was pushed out of the operating room and taken to the Intensive Care Unit.

Hector stood outside and looked at him through the window.

Done with his phone call, Carson walked back and said, “My people have called the doctor who treated Victor before.

He will come today to see him.”

Dewayne came out in a hurry.

Dressed in his uniform, Dewayne rushed to Hector and greeted him.

However, Hector’s reply wasn’t very heartwarming.

He raised his cane and hit Dewayne unexpectedly.

It was too sudden for Dewayne to dodge the attack.

He gritted his teeth at the pain and stepped back.

“Why did you hit me?”

“Are you trying to escape? Huh?” Hector spat out angrily as he saw

As Dewayne kept running, Hector couldn’t keep up.

So, he stopped following him and grunted, “Did you just ask me that? Do you even know where you are?”

Seeing that Hector had stopped chasing him, Dewayne also stopped and looked at the sign on the wall.

“The ICU?”

“Oh, so you can read? You realize where we are, huh?” Hector scolded angrily.

Dewayne moved his lips to say something, but what could he say? He gulped and looked at Hector helplessly.

“I’m not against you enforcing the law.

You had every right to arrest Victor.

But that wasn’t all you did, was it? You knew he was seriously injured, yet, you didn’t give him food or even water.

How did you expect him to survive?” Hector took a deep breath to hold his anger in.

“It wasn’t easy to save him, and now he is going to die again because of you!”

“What? I never did that!” Dewayne felt wronged.

After Victor was brought into the station, he wasn’t treated badly even once.

In fact, all they did was lock him up in the interrogation room.
