But no matter how hard he slammed his hand against the door and shouted, nobody responded.

Wallace eventually got tired and his voice became hoarse.

Feeling weak, he lowered his hand and looked around.

It was dark and cold.

Suddenly, he felt a chill going down his spine.

He clenched his fists, seemingly having made up his mind.

He shouted at the door once more, “Let me see Mr.

Sullivan! I have something important to say to him.

This is about the King of Hearts!”

At long last, the door was opened.

Not long after, someone walked in.

With renewed hope and joy, Wallace immediately tried to speak to the person who showed up.

“I want to talk to Mr.

Sullivan.

There’s something important that I have to tell him.”

“What is it that you want to tell him, Mr.

Finch?” the person asked with a smile as they stood against the light.

Once Wallace’s eyes had adjusted to the dazzling light, he saw who he was talking to.

The smile on his face disappeared, and his pupils dilated.

“Why are you here?” he asked.

“Who were you expecting to see?” Rachel asked in a contemptuous tone.

Wallace took a deep breath to force himself to calm down.

“I wish to speak to Odin!”

Afterwards, he wanted to march in and look for Odin.

Rachel didn’t attempt to stop him.

Just as Wallace was about to pass her by, two men in black appeared from behind her and apprehended him.

Struggling to break free, Wallace grunted, “Let me go!”

Rachel drew closer toward him and said, “Don’t look at me Like that.

They’re not my people.

I’m not the one who’s stopping you from seeing Odin.”

Then, the men shoved Wallace.

He staggered backward, and it took him a few seconds to stabilize himself.

“You liar!” Wallace glared at her.

“You did everything you could to get close to me and set me up to gain Odin’s trust.

Do you think he’ll believe you just because of my downfall? You’re not the real

King of Hearts! I’m going to tell him about this.

I will expose you!”

“If he doesn’t believe me, does that necessarily mean he believes you?”

Rachel walked toward the nearest chair and sat down.

Though she was the one sitting, and Wallace was standing, she didn’t appear to be the weaker one.

In a nonchalant manner, she asked, “Haven’t you figured out your situation yet, Wallace?”
