Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1524
Assuming she did not believe him because of her lack of response,
Wallace quickly added, “I really don’t know.
That person could contact Tara and me freely, but we couldn’t do the same to him.”
“So, it was a one-way communication.
How could you trust a stranger so easily? If Shelia found out about this, she and the rest of the
Red Hackers wouldn’t let you off the hook.
Don’t you cherish your life more than anything? Why did you take such a huge risk?”

Rachel believed Wallace was telling the truth when he said he didn’t know the person.
After all, Wallace had no more reason to hide anything.
There was only one way for him to stay alive, and that was to tell her everything.
Wallace licked his lips.
They were parched and bleeding because he had not eaten or drunk anything for a day.
“I.
I found it suspicious at first.” Trying to ignore the smell of blood, Wallace continued, “But this guy seemed to have been keeping an eye on us from the shadows.
Whatever we did, he always knew about it.
The committee of the Red Hackers was made up of only seven people.
Even if we succeeded in getting rid of Shelia, we still needed another spot so that Tara and I could both get in.”
A sudden memory sprang to Rachel’s mind.
“Not long after we brought that up, Cristian died.” Wallace did not kill the man himself, but he was the reason why Cristian died.
Cristian Welch was part of the committee of the Red Hackers.
He was impulsive and rude, but he was a nice person.
By accepting numerous risky missions, he worked his way up to become one of the committee’s seven members.
Four months before Shelia was framed, Cristian took on a difficult, secret mission in a foreign country.
Before he set off, he was so confident that it was not a tough task and that he would be able to complete it in a week.
He even planned to throw a party once he was back.
The payoff for the said mission was substantial enough for him to put off taking risky jobs for quite some time.
No one expected that he would die during the mission.
Shelia had just finished a meeting when she learned about Cristian’s death.
Like her, the other members of the Red Hackers were shocked by the news.
Shortly after, Shelia sent one of her subordinates to that country to investigate what had happened, but that person failed to find out how Cristian’s identity and position were exposed.
At that time, all signs pointed to his death being an accident.
Due to her lack of familiarity with Cristian and absence of strong sentiments for him, Shelia made no further attempt to ascertain the strangeness of the situation.
It was a mistake.
As it turned out, Cristian’s death was a foreshadowing of her incoming doom.
Everything was a well-laid plan all along.
“Later, Shelia was captured by the international police for leaking highly confidential information.
She was taken to the court and was convicted as a traitor because all evidence pointed out that she was one.
As they say, when the tree falls, the monkeys scatter.
After
Shelia was arrested, the Red Hackers fell into a state of disarray, and that person used this opportunity to assist Tara and me in solidifying our positions in the Red Hackers.
However, we didn’t expect that there’d still be people who would willingly side with
Shelia even after the Red Hackers almost got destroyed by her.
Quintin, in particular, was very vocal about it.”
Quintin refused to believe that Shelia was a traitor, and he had tried his best to prove her innocence.
The committee losing two of its members in a row caused the other five to worry about their own safety.
Because of this, the two vacant positions remained unfilled for a considerable amount of time.
