Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1539
“Every year after that, Mr.
Sullivan would spend about two months discussing the other wedding dresses with the designer.
These are the finished products, and they are all for you, Miss Bennet.” Eva looked at Rachel.
She couldn’t bring to tell the latter how many times she had seen Victor come here in the past four years, nor could she share that the arrogant CEO crouched down in front of the dresses to smoothen them and stood up with red eyes.
After a while, Rachel left the studio.
But she didn’t return home right away.
Instead, she found a cafe and sat at the table by the window.
She took out her phone and sent a message to Quintin, asking him to take Joey back to the Red Hackers tomorrow.
Quintin was a little surprised to read the message, wondering what could have happened for Rachel to be in such a hurry.
He called her to ask about it, but she didn’t pick up.
Looking at the two tickets in his hands, Quintin hesitated.
After some thought, he took out his phone and logged in to the online ticketing platform to change the flight to the following day.
Rachel heard her phone ring, but her mind was currently a mess, so she didn’t answer Quintin’s call.
She just wanted him to take Joey away from Apliaria as soon as possible because she knew things would be bad around here after Victor’s death.
Though not many knew that Joey was Victor’s child, it was hard to say how long that information could remain hidden.
The safest thing to do was to get Joey out of this dangerous place.
The Red Hackers was well-informed, but Rachel would have a way to hide Victor’s death for a period of time as long as Joey was in the
Red Hackers.
She needed to keep it a secret until the things in
Apliaria were settled.
“It’s snowing!” The staff who had just put the coffee on Rachel’s table looked out of the window in excitement.
Immediately, everyone in the coffee shop turned to look outside.
It was indeed snowing.
The snow came a little later than usual.
Just when people thought it wouldn’t come this year, tiny snowflakes rained down from the sky unexpectedly.
Rachel also turned her head and looked out of the window.
The snow was light and subtle.
White flakes fell from the sky like fluttering leaves, soon covering the road with a thin layer of snow.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated, taking her attention away from nice view.
She picked it up and saw the message.
It was from Carson, which said, “Victor’s body will be cremated tomorrow.”
Cremated…
No matter how many words there were in the sentence, Rachel could only stare blankly at this word.
While she was spaced out, a shop assistant brought her a slice of cake and put it on her table.
“Here’s your cake, miss.
Enjoy.”
“What? I didn’t order this.” Rachel came to her senses.
She looked at the cake in front of her and frowned.
“Let me check.
One moment, please.” The shop assistant went behind the counter to confirm the order and came back.
“It’s indeed bought for this table, miss.
If you didn’t order it, someone must have gotten it for you.”
