Odin looked at him and ordered, “Send my mother back.”

“Understood, sir.” With a firm nod, the man approached Maria.

Maria’s heart jolted when she saw him, but she turned to her son and cried out, “Odin, you… What do you mean by this? Are you trying to kick me out?”

“Sorry, it’s nothing like that.” Odin walked over to the desk and sat down, lazily leaning against the chair.

“I just want you to go home and get some rest.

I’ll consider the marriage proposal.”

The car is waiting downstairs.”

Maria thought Odin would say something more as she cast a glance his way.

But he didn’t even turn to look.

She became irate over this.

After picking up her bag, she walked out of the office.

Odin raised his head and stared at the glistening nameplate as soon as the office door was shut.

His eyes were deep and intense.

After a while, someone knocked on the door.

The man pushed the door open and entered before Odin could respond.

“Our people watched Victor’s body go into the cremator in the funeral home.

I’m sure he’s dead,” the man asserted.

“Are you certain they saw Victor’s body being cremated?”

The man paused for a brief moment before confidently responding, “Yes,

I’m sure.

And when the cremation was about to end, Rachel Bennet burned the document that would have allowed her to claim Victor’s ashes.”

“Oh? My former sister-in-law was also present there?” Odin furrowed his brow.

“Yes, but she didn’t seem distraught.

Our people heard her telling

Carson that she would throw his ashes into the bin.”

Odin’s grin became even wider.

“Well, that’s what I intend to do.”

Odin then ordered, “Send someone to watch the Browns and Carson in the coming days, and report their whereabouts to me every day.”
