She did not withdraw her gaze until Bryan turned the corner.

Seeing him flee was not particularly entertaining.

However, his green hair was so eye-catching.

After a while, Rachel shrugged, throwing what had just happened to the back of her mind.

She then stepped on the gas pedal and drove forward.

A short drive later, she arrived at Evergreen Road.

Straight ahead was a narrow alley that could only accommodate two people walking side by side.

There was no way she could drive on it.

Rachel was only five hundred meters away from her destination.

Three hundred meters into her journey, Rachel came across a fork in the road.

She was deliberating which path to take when she heard a cry of pain.

I’m sorry.” Rachel recognized the voice immediately.

It belonged to the green-haired man.

“You’re sorry? You don’t look like you are, though.” It was the voice of the man who had been hit by a stone earlier.

Following the source of the voices, Rachel walked a few steps to the left.

She then saw four people in a cramped passageway.

Surrounding the green-haired man were three people.

At the moment, Bryan’s eye-catching hair was in a much more disheveled state.

A black circle had formed around his right eye, and he was pinned against the wall, trembling.

Rachel advanced a step and felt something under her foot.

She looked down and saw a slipper.

It was Bryan’s.

The pain and the fear prompted tears to roll down Bryan’s face.

He did not say anything more.

Rachel turned around to leave.

She did not want to get involved in this.

Then, she heard Bryan’s cry for help again.

Eventually, it reached a deafening volume.

Rubbing the inside of her ear with her pinky, she glanced at the slipper once more.

“I was wrong! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Bryan, his face blue from the beating he received, clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture.

“Well, since you sound so sincere, I can consider forgiving you, but on one condition.”

Swallowing, Bryan looked up at the man with apprehension in his eyes.
