Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1581
Stricken with fear, Alice took two steps back.
But as soon as she turned around, Bryan blocked the door and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Though bruised, his eyes remained intimidating.
Alice gritted her teeth, trying not to panic.
She gazed at Rachel angrily.
“What do you want, Rachel?”
“I’m here to make you pay.”
Rachel’s words were straightforward, and Alice shivered, the guilt of her sins making the scar on her face sting in pain.
In the past four years, she had gone through a lot of torture and suffering.
After
Rachel disappeared into the ocean, Victor had her locked up in an asylum.
She kept trying to prove that she was not crazy, but the people only pretended to believe her to sedate her, allowing her no escape.
Doctors, nurses, madmen….
Being with such lunatics, even a normal person would be driven crazy.
Their outbursts gave her paranoia and she feared for her life.
She endured that fate for two years.
In the beginning, she thought she could find someone who would take her side and let her out.
But after months and months, she completely lost hope.
She worked hard to keep her good behavior and stayed obedient in order to prove to the doctors that she was sane.
To her surprise, it all went down the drain when the doctor did not retract her diagnosis because she “wasn’t getting better.”
Bullshit! Why did he deny the truth?
Furious and desperate, Alice grabbed the doctor’s hand, her eyes red.
“You know I’m not sick.
Why…”
But the doctor brushed her hand away forcefully.
“Alice, it’s not use.
You can’t leave.
You’re not like the others.”
“Why… This is illegal…”
The doctor shook his head and looked at her disapprovingly.
“Who do you think will believe a mad person’s words? Don’t you know why?”
With a click of his tongue, the doctor looked at the nurse behind him and ordered, “Her condition took a turn for the worse.
Prepare a higher dose for the tranquilizers.”
Then, the doctor and nurse left.
Seeing the iron door closing in, Alice hissed.
She grabbed the bars of the small opening and shouted frantically, “Let me out! Let me out!”
However, her words fell on deaf ears.
