Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1599
Two hundred dollars wasn’t a problem for Rachel.
However, she hated the smug look on the owner’s face, and she didn’t want to please him.
She put her phone away.
“No, I don’t want it.
Thanks, though,” she said with a straight face and walked out.
The owner was surprised by Rachel’s choice.
He didn’t think she wouldn’t buy it.
Stunned, he went after her.
“Miss, one hundred.
You can pay me one hundred.
What do you think?”
Rachel stepped into the rain without looking back.
“Fifty then! How about that?” The owner’s voice came from behind.
Rachel didn’t slow down.
She kept going until she couldn’t hear the owner’s voice anymore.
She looked around and murmured with a sigh,
“No shelter.” Then, she took out her phone and opened Uber again.
Still, no one accepted the order.
It was a remote place and it was raining.
It was more difficult to get a taxi under these conditions.
She opened her contact list to find someone she could call.
After going through it, she didn’t really have anyone she could call.
Quintin was at the alliance, and that was a long way from here.
Andy went on a business trip a few days ago.
Calling him would be futile.
After Rachel hesitated for a while, her finger rested above Eva’s phone number.
Eva was her only option now.
She was about to press on the call option when the rain suddenly stopped.
Rachel paused and looked up, only to find an umbrella above her.
She turned her head in surprise and saw a man in suit standing next to her.
“Miss Bennet, our boss wants to give you a ride home,” the man said in a low voice.
Rachel looked back and saw the Maybach following behind them.
Through the front window, she could vaguely see a man in the back seat with a half mask.
She glanced at the plate number but couldn’t recall seeing it before, so she refused.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know your boss.
Tell him I’m grateful for the kind offer, but there’s really no need.”
After that, she withdrew her sight and continued on her way.
However, the man was unrelenting.
He followed Rachel while holding the umbrella over her head.
“He doesn’t mean anything else.
He just passed by and saw you.
This place is quite dangerous.
It’s unsafe for you to be walking alone, so he wants to give you a ride.”
Rachel halted and regarded the man sharply.
Holding her gaze, the man showed an earnest expression.
