Susan blushed after hearing her friend’s words and gave her a coquettish look.

“But then again, you’ve been away for all these years, you should know little about things in Apliaria.

Victor was married.”

“He was married?”

“Yes.

He once married Miss Bennet.”

“Then why did they divorce?” Susan curiously asked

“Rachel Bennet was very popular for being good-for-nothing.

She was known to always make a fool of herself.

Some people said that she got divorced because Victor couldn’t stand her anymore.

But others said that they didn’t really get divorced.

Someone saw the two of them on a cruise ship.

Victor fought with someone else for her on the deck.”

Taking another sip of wine, Susan thought for a while and asked,

“Where is she now?”

“Haven’t you heard about it? She fell into the sea and died.”

Susan was stunned with what she heard.

Hence, she didn’t notice a waiter coming her way, who accidentally bumped into her shoulder.

The red wine spilled out of her glass and sprinkled on her dress.

She excused herself and went to the bathroom to clean up.

When she came out of the ladies’ room, she found Victor leaning against the wall, smoking.

The smoke covering his face made him look languish and lonely.

Susan stopped and watched him from a short distance.

As Victor threw the butt of his cigarette into the trash can and was about to leave, Susan finally had the courage to approach him.

“Mr.

Sullivan.”

Following the direction of the voice, Victor found her standing behind him.

After taking a deep breath, Susan smiled and offered her hand for a handshake.

“Nice meeting you here, Mr.

Sullivan.

I’m Susan Salazar.”

Her hand felt a little sore, but Victor didn’t reach out to accept it.

She felt so embarrassed that she regretted what she did.

When Susan was about to take her hand back, Victor suddenly asked,

“yihat’s your name again?”

For a moment, Susan just stared at him.

His dark eyes reflected her astonishment.

“Susan… Susan Salazar.” As soon as she came back to her senses, she introduced herself.

“My name is Susan.

My father is James Salazar, the CEO of Salazar Group.”

Victor was looking straight at her, but somehow, Susan felt as though he was seeing another person.
