Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 841
If the hacker worked for Odin, it only meant that Odin was not as simple as they took him to be.
But then Carson thought again, ‘Is it necessary to investigate this?
Odin is dead.’
Joey didn’t know what was going on in Carson’s mind.
The reason he brought up the three hundred million dollars was to make Carson think about Odin.
And since Odin was dead, he wouldn’t find any evidence.
Joey had to dispel the doubts of Carson’s sharp mind.
He pushed open the door.
Before he could see the man lying in the bed clearly, the man said coldly, “Get out!”
“Well, Joey, it seems that the person you want to see doesn’t want to see you.” Carson, who just came back to his senses, flashed a wry smile and leaned against the door.
Ignoring his sarcasm, Joey walked straight inside.
The coldness in Victor’s eyes instantly vanished when he saw Joey enter the room.
It was an unexpected visit, so he asked in a hoarse voice.
“Why are you here?”
Instead of answering his question, Joey stood by the bed and looked at him.
Victor just had an operation earlier that day.
His face was still pale when he regained his
consciousness.
The loose hospital gown with blue and white stripes only made him look weaker, extremely far from the vigorous man everyone knew.
Noticing the crack in his lips, Joey turned around and walked to the water dispenser.
When Victor didn’t get a response from Joey, he turned his cold eyes at Carson.
Although he wasn’t saying anything, the latter know that he was questioning him.
Therefore, Carson hastily raised his hands in front of him as if defending himself.
“Don’t blame me.
If I didn’t bring him here, he would have still found a way to come here by himself.”
Carson was right.
When they were still in the restaurant, he thought Joey was acting strange.
What happened in the lab of the Salazar Group kept appearing in his mind, and so he followed Joey to the bathroom and waited for him there.
If he didn’t do that, he would probably be looking for
Joey everywhere at this time.
“Drink some water,” Joey said, handing over the glass of warm water to Victor.
His gesture took Victor by surprise, so he wasn’t able to react right away.
The impatient Joey frowned.
“Aren’t you thirsty?”
“Little guy, he’s not thirsty.
I’m thirsty.
Hand it to me.” With a smile, Carson reached for the glass of water from Joey.
However, before his fingertips could touch the glass, Victor already took it first with his slightly trembling hand.
The glass shook and a few drops of water fell upon Carson’s cuff.
Joey looked at Carson’s hand and pursed his lips.
