The stranger’s threat frightened me to my core. My hands trembled as he moved closer to whisper in my ear. “My name is Dylan and from now on—you’re mine.”

My eyes widened as he stepped back. Goosebumps trailed across my flesh and made shiver as his words sunk their teeth deep into me. I wanted to be free, not belong to someone. Least of all a scary stranger that I had only just met.

Even more so, I didn’t want to belong to a sadistic Snake King who wanted me delivered straight to his bed—that scared me most of all.

Dylan leaned behind me to grip the gag I had torn from my mouth earlier. I could say nothing as he shoved it back in my mouth without a warning. My eyes screamed questions at the boy, he only smirked again as he pushed me back in the van and slammed the door shut.

I gripped onto the door desperately, but it wouldn’t open. What was he doing! Did he lie to me? Was he actually the one going to bring us to the Snake King? Why would he toy with me if he had no intentions of getting me out of here?

I closed my eyes tightly and tried to control my breathing. Soon enough, I heard muffled voices from the outside. Slowly, I leaned myself back against the cold wall of the van and waited for whatever fate had in store for me.

A few minutes passed before the door was finally yanked back open and there Dylan stood once more. He didn’t give me a chance to react, he pulled me towards him and picked me up into his arms like a bride before he carried me out of the horrible van and towards a different truck that I could only assume was his own.

I gripped onto his shirt tightly as he held me, only when he set me in the backseat did I let him go. I pulled the gag from my mouth and parted my lips to speak, but nothing came out.

He eyed me for a long moment before he moved to get in the front seat.

I was too afraid to speak or ask questions as he drove. I gripped onto the seat tightly as his truck crawled up a steep hill. Where were we going now? How far was I from home? My stomach flipped as the ride grew a little rough from all the bumps and swerves. I let out a deep sigh of relief when he finally stopped in front of some small cabin.

Was this his home? Or some sort of hide out that he used when he did things like this? I braced myself when the unpredictable boy opened the door. He gripped my waist and helped me down, I held my breath the whole time he touched me.

“Head into the cabin.” He instructed with a look that left no room for disagreement. I quickly nodded my head and walked along the small dirt path ahead of him. The old door wouldn’t budge at first, I had to push my weight against it before it finally creaked open. Inside, it was much dimmer than I expected with only a single window to light the area. And not to mention emptier.

There was only a broken bed in the center of the room with a few chairs scattered, but not much else beyond. I flinched when Dylan threw a pile of clothes at my chest.

“Change.” He said as he seated himself in a chair across from me. His inhuman stormy eyes stayed locked on me without a sense of care to my privacy. Those eyes almost seemed to glow in the darkness. There was no way it was possible that he was the same species as me. Was he a shifter?

“Hurry up. I don’t like to wait.” He grumbled. Did he expect me to change in front of him?

I looked around the room for another door that might lead to a bathroom. I didn’t get a chance to move when I suddenly heard his stomps come towards me.

I screamed as his rough hands gripped my arms and brought me down hard against the bed. My entire body tensed up when he tore open my dirtied school uniform and forced me into the one he threw at me. Tears blurred my vision, my body was trembling beneath him as he did as he pleased to control me.

All I could hear was his loud breath in my ear. Slowly, he gripped my chin and made me look at him. Every inch of me felt violated and disgusting from his touch.

“Do what I tell you to when I tell you to do it, understand?” His lips brushed against my cheek. His sharp words were so soft, but his grip only tightened.

“I—“ I gasped in pain. He clenched my jaw tight enough to break.

“Answer me.” He hissed against my ear.

I nodded my head.

Third POV

Back at the van, the boss sat with two of his men from the farm. He was lucky to escape that creature with his life, and now all he wanted to do was have a long drink as he watched them bury his crew. Luckily, they were able to get to him quickly enough to replace his men.

“Ay boss, how come you agreed to that kid’s terms?”

The deal was ridiculous. The boy took one of the women with him and expected them to deliver half of what the Snake King expected. They already knew deep down that they were in trouble no matter how much he liked the girl that remained.

“I had no choice.” He gestured to the small drops of b***d that splattered across the van. “I would have ended up just like them.”

The boss nervously raked his fingers through his greasy hair and pulled out his phone to pass to the other men. “When he was checking out the goods, I got a message that a lot of our men have been caught at the border and arrested.”

Their eyes widened as they read the message for themselves. “We have to turn back, boss. We can’t attempt to pass the border now!”

“It’s only a matter of time before they find the farm and smoke the rest of us out.” Their boss muttered. He turned away from their frightened expressions. Everything they had built over the years was about to crumble at their feet. Police lined the border and were ready for anyone to try and get past.

“If we can get through with the girl we still have, the Snake King might be able to lend us protection for all we’ve done for him. The boy gave us a route to take.”

“Even if one of the girls is missing? He would spare us?”

The boss hesitated. “We tell him that the boy stole her. Let the Snake King have his revenge on the boy and leave our hands clean.”

The older man knew the boy was powerful, he saw only a taste for it himself. But could he survive the Snake King? Could he survive an army?

The outfit he picked for me was some sort of camouflage that matched his own. It was huge on me, but I liked it better that way. Better to be in something big rather than small.

Dylan gestured for me to follow him without a word. I wanted to run as far as I could away from him before that violent side came out again. He led me out of the house and through the forest that looked… much different than any that I had seen before.

The ground was a strange bright green that looked like artificial grass, but I knew it was real. It smelled real. It smelled like wet grass and dark berries. Bright, vibrant flowers decorated the trees in some areas, while other areas looked as if they were coated in death. It looked like a forest from some sort of strange fairytale.

Dylan suddenly gripped my waist and moved me away from a plant that sprung to life and tried to snip at me.

“What the—“ I gasped and lunched myself back into Dylan. I caught the humorous smirk on his face before he turned away from me. After that, I mirrored his steps so I didn’t fall into some strange pit somewhere.

Eventually, we managed to make our way out of the strange area with snapping plants. Dylan seemed to know every step to take so they didn’t get eaten by any other plants or whatever else haunted the forest.

I inhaled the fresh morning air as I followed him through the bushes. It was crisp and cool, up ahead I could hear the sound of a river. My mouth felt like a desert, I would have given anything to drink fresh water—

“There it is.” Dylan said from beside me as he came to a stop at the running river.
