Patara

He was a large man, bulky and I could see the family resemblance in his face and eyes. Where his daughter’s eyes were filled with malice, his were filled with l**t.

He closed the door behind him as he entered and approached me slowly, almost purring as he came closer. He grabbed me by my face and turned my face roughly from side to side, inspecting me with a thoughtful purr. It reminded me of that cold-eyed woman from when I had first been taken, but so much worse. That woman had been detached, like a doctor giving a health exam, but his interest was all too clear in the way his breathing grew rougher and he m****d as he thrust a hand between my legs and squeezed as if he owned me.

I felt sick.

“You are quite the pretty little human, aren’t you?” He trailed his hand over my neck, groped one of my breasts roughly, and g*****d. “The perfect size…”

I turned my head trying to block out what was happening and his l**t. His breath was hot against my skin and his hands were near burning me. They felt so different from Dylan’s hands. If I ever had any doubt about how much Dylan cared about me, it was obvious from the difference in how they touched me. My eyes burned with tears as he groped and sniffed me, pressing his large body against me as he squeezed my a*s firmly.

“Just enough meat on you. Where did Dylan pick a pretty little thing like you up from?” He scoffed, “For all of his talk, he’s still a shifter like the rest of us. I bet he paid a pretty penny for you to be brought over here…”

He chuckled, licking my b***d from his hands, “I’ll have to get the total and the name of his trafficker to compensate him for ruining you. You should be able to bear at least one cub for me.”

I screamed, but the gag muffled it. He tore at my clothes, pulling my pants from me roughly and stroking his c**k through his pants.

“It’s rare that my daughter thinks to bring me such a gift.”

I kicked and thrashed, twisting and turning, trying to get away from him but he grabbed me by my h*p, prying my legs open as he unbuckled his belt. This couldn’t be happening. After everything that I’ve been through, this couldn’t be happening.

Where was Dylan?

He chuckled, “Do keep fighting. I love a lively one. They never last long.”

I sobbed, turning and kicking as best as I could. I heard his pants drop to the floor and felt the heat of his body between my thoughts as tears spilled down my cheeks. I thought of that girl underneath the lizard creature, pale and dead-eyed as if she were already dead. How long would it take before I stopped feeling this man inside me? Would I die as he grunted and moved on top of me? Would that be the last thing I felt before I died? My stomach lurched. This couldn’t be happening to me. I thought of Dylan and screamed for him in my mind, reaching out to him as if I could call him to me. If only I could call him to me.

Would Ethan grow up the way Dylan had, knowing that his father had died avenging his mother and his mother had been raped to death? I knew Dylan would never forgive the tiger king if I died here. If this man raped me, Dylan would burn the forest down whether I was alive or not. He would likely burn the entire territory for kidnapping me anyway.

What would happen to Ethan? What had happened to Ethan? Was Erik alive? I could almost see Ethan staring blankly at Dylan as he tried to explain that I was dead. I could see Erik trying to explain that we were both dead.

My child wouldn’t even know to mourn me, would he? Would he be okay with Dylan as he started a path of destruction across the continent? I couldn’t let that happen. No matter what the tiger king did to me, I had to survive. I had to get back to my son. I had to get back to Dylan and be there for the first time he called for me.

I couldn’t give up and just accept my death. I kicked, managing to twist free of him for just a moment and spin around wildly.

He laughed and caught me, dragging me back and holding my legs open to see me as he grabbed his leaking c**k and aimed it to plunge into me. I screamed, twisting and thrashing against him.

“So much fight, I—”

The tiger king cried out stumbling back and releasing me. I swung back and opened my eyes as fire swirled around me. I felt the burn mark heating up and pulsing as he stumbled back, batting at the fire on his shirt. The fire swirled up, burning through the ropes around my wrists and the gag in my mouth. I fell onto my feet and stumbled.

I grunted, barely catching myself before my legs gave out, and I collapsed to the ground in a heap, panting and fearful. I struggled to my hands and knees and tried to crawl away from the man as he growled. I was so close to the door when I felt him stomping up behind me.

“That f*****g kid. The nerve of him to mark a human. I guess you’re more delicious than I first thought!” I cried out as he grabbed me by my hair and pulled me up against him, grinding his body against mine.

The wounds on my back burned and tried to pull away.

“Don’t worry your pretty little head. You’ll get what’s coming to you. I’ll just have to kill him and then get on with it. I need more children if we’re going to one day take over the human continent.” He yanked me back and hauled me to my feet, dragging me behind him as he pulled up his pants and marched towards the door.

“Sir?”

“Take her to my rooms. She is not to be defiled by any of you,” he growled and threw me to the other shifter man. “Have the new batch of weapons arrived? The shifter canon, specifically.”

My heart lurched. How had they managed to get a canon? Shifter weaponry was hard to get across the border with Dylan patrolling it. I thought he controlled the entire border. Still, even if the humans were okay with sharing shifter weaponry, they wouldn’t have given up something as dangerous as a canon without good reason.

After all, a canon aimed at a human would do the same amount of damage as it would against a shifter, maybe more. Who was their contact on the other side of the border that would give them such weaponry?

I reached out in my mind to Dylan, wondering if he could hear me and my warning about the canon and perhaps all the other weaponry they likely had.

“We had to bring it in directly through our border, but yes, it’s here.”

“Good. Set it up. I have a feeling we’ll have a dragon on our hands soon enough.” He paused, “Better yet, make sure it’s known that Dylan is the one bringing in the weaponry. Spread as many lies as you can about him and his movements. We need to destabilize his hold on the other shift races.”

“Of course, sir.”

I turned in the man’s grip, trying to get away. Then, a sharp pain went through me and everything went dark again.

I wondered if Dylan would find me or if I would have to watch him be shot out of the sky by a canon.
