CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1511
Ben's lips pressed into a thin line. He didn't know how to describe what he was feeling at that moment.
The Jamie he knew was someone who could easily abandon their relationship for money.
He had even done a paternity test on Jamie's child, confirming there was no biological connection between them.
Now, she had gone to such lengths for him. Was this her conscience finally surfacing?
Ben didn't want to dwell on it. "Your grandmother is innocent. Don't worry, I'll take care of her situation," he said.
"Thank you." Caden lowered his head in gratitude.
Ben nodded slightly and walked past him without another word.
After leaving, Ben returned home to find Mrs. Lucas waiting for him, ready to perform a series of superstitious gestures to "clear away bad energy."
He went along with her routine without protest.
Once she was finished, he got into his car.
"Who did you reach out to that managed to get me released so quickly?" Ben asked, recalling Caden's earlier comment.
Mrs. Lucas, unwilling to mention Jamie directly, weighed her words carefully. She couldn't pin the entire situation on Summer, especially if Summer had no knowledge of it and the case had official records. Eventually, she decided to be upfront.
"I don't know where Jamie managed to get the recording, but she handed it over to me. She struck a deal in exchange."
She added coldly, "Her son was taken and she needed help getting him back."
Caden's story aligned perfectly with this.
Ben didn't respond, his lips tightening further into a grim line.
Mrs. Lucas noticed his expression and didn't hold back.
"You'd better let go of whatever feelings you still have for Jamie. I'll overlook all the trouble you've caused me this time, but from now on, you will handle things my way. That includes finalizing your engagement to Summer by the end of next month."
She refused to acknowledge Jamie or Winnie, for that matter.
Besides, Ben had used a different name to interact with Winnie, and it was clear his feelings for her were superficial at best.
Since Ben didn't truly care about Winnie, Mrs. Lucas saw no reason to take her seriously either.
While Ben had no real interest in Winnie, he wasn't about to blindly follow his mother's demands.
"Summer is your choice, not mine," he said coldly.
"And what's wrong with that?" Mrs. Lucas snapped. "At least the women I pick have respectable family backgrounds!"
Her anger flared. Jamie was
someone Ben had chosen on his
own, but in her eyes, Jamie would never measure up. The girl had once abandoned Ben for money.

Ben closed his eyes, making it clear he had no intention of arguing further.
Seeing this, Mrs. Lucas relented.
She followed him back home, watching as he showered and changed into a fresh set of clothes As he was preparing to leave, she blocked his path and threw his dirty clothes straight into the trash
"Ben," she said sternly, "some people and things in your life are nothing but garbage. Garbage belongs in the trash. Stop clinging to what does you no good."
It was clear she was referring to Jamie and Winnie.
The mention of the sisters irritated Ben further. He didn't want to hear their names right now.
"I'm heading out to meet Nash and the others," he said, exasperated. "Please, stop dragging Jamie or her sister into this. I have nothing to do with them anymore." Mrs. Lucas clearly didn't believe him.
If there were truly no connection, why had he approached Winnie under the guise of "Jack Green" just to pull Jamie back into his life?
Still, she chose not to escalate the conversation. "Make sure you handle this properly today," she said, stepping aside to let him leave.
