Scarlett felt that Nina's change was too sudden.

She did not know Nina that well, but when she offered to fight for Nina, it was surprising that Nina refused her help so completely. Most people, when facing a life-threatening situation, would cling to any chance of survival.

It felt off that Nina was pushing everyone away, and Scarlett could only think it was because Nina did not want to drag them down.

Wilfred looked at Scarlett, realizing she might have a point. When Nina learned about his complicated background, she did not show much resistance. But now, she was not only pushing him away but also everyone else.

Perhaps Scott's risky journey to the Yaren tribe had filled her with guilt, and she did not want anyone else to take risks for her.

Despite this, Wilfred respected Nina's feelings. "No matter what, I will save her life. If she doesn't want to see us, then we'll keep our distance. As long as she can live peacefully, that's all that matters."

There was not a perfect solution. The poison in her body had no antidote. Despite numerous experiments, a true cure could not be formulated. They were all trying their best. If it were an easy problem to solve, the organization would have been dismantled long ago. Scarlett asked, "What do you plan to do? The poison will flare up again. Didn't you notice her arm already showing bruises?"

Nina's arm was indeed starting to show bruises, although they were not very pronounced. This was a sign that the poison was spreading through her body.

Even with Wilfred's help, it was only a temporary solution. Once the poison built resistance, his efforts would become useless.

Wilfred frowned deeply. "There will be a way."

When Nina woke up, she was lying on the sofa, and no one was around.

Just as she was wondering what was going on, she heard a voice from the kitchen. "My dear, you're awake!"

Yvonne came out carrying a bowl of chicken soup. Seeing Nina awake, she breathed a sigh of relief and quickly placed the soup on the table. It was too hot, so she shook her hand to cool it. Seeing Yvonne there, Nina felt disoriented. "Why are you here?"

Yvonne replied, "I missed you, so I came to check on you. I saw you were asleep and got worried. Thankfully, you're okay. It would have scared me to death if something had happened! "Come on, I made you some chicken soup."

Nina was puzzled. "Was anyone here when you arrived?"

"No, you were just lying on the sofa, sleeping for a long time. Have you been overworking yourself?" Yvonne sat beside her.

Nina thought about her conversation with Scarlett before she fell unconscious. She felt a bit confused.

Seeing the effort Yvonne put into the chicken soup, Nina softened. "I remember you don't usually cook."

"For your baby, I made an exception. It was a hassle!" Yvonne, who usually avoided cooking, made an effort because she was worried about Nina's thin frame and the toll the pregnancy was taking on her. "Thank you, Yvonne. It's good to have you around." Nina appreciated her kindness and quickly sat up to drink the soup.

"How is it?" Yvonne asked expectantly.

Nina nodded. "It's good."

Yvonne grinned. "I guess I do have some talent!"

Then she noticed the bruises on Nina's arm. "What happened to your arm? Did you bump into something?"

Nina noticed the bruises, startled for a moment. She quickly pulled her sleeve down to cover them. "I must have hit something. You know I've been on set a lot lately."

"Be more careful," Yvonne advised. "You're pregnant now. Don't push yourself too hard."
