Chasing His Brother's Bride
Chasing His Brother’s Bride – Chapter 45

Brix and Malik exited the Cacciola private jet behind Fabrizio and Elio and descended the steps quickly. Making their way to the waiting vehicles, Brix felt a significant amount of regret for leaving Jolie at home today. It was their wedding day. They should be home, seducing the hell out of their bride. Instead, they were in Vegas to deal with several situations.

One of them being Chiara. Malik was chomping at the bit to get a piece of her and Brix himself was right there with him. Brix was concerned however how his father was going to deal with the situation. To his credit he had given the order for her termination. He had insisted as well on being present at her interrogation. No matter how the evening went tonight, Chiara Cacciola was going to disappear off the face of the earth tonight.

The quartet was silent as they parted ways. Under no circumstances were Elio and Brix to travel together in the same vehicle, especially now. They all knew their directives from their conversation in the plane. They knew what they were doing and where they were going and what would happen when they arrived.

In the back of the SUV, Brix and Malik were both lost in their own thoughts as the car traveled from the private airfield owned by the family in the direction of a safehouse where Elio had ordered his wife be taken.

Once they dispatched of the woman, they would be making another flight to join Juan Rueda for a conversation. He had received Miguel’s teeth and had immediately requested a meeting with Elio. Elio had let him know yesterday he would agree to a meeting in a neutral environment south of the border. Juan had indicated he wanted to discuss a peace meeting but Brix had no intention of being peaceful. He and his team were going to annihilate the entire Rueda cartel. He had joked on the plane he might send the DEA a bill for services rendered in wiping out one of their biggest targets. While they would be meeting with Rueda, sixty of their most ruthless soldiers would be gunning down all the high and mid level members of the cartel. The order had been given and it would be carried out. There was no excuse for failure.

He rolled his shoulders out. One of the rules of their family was women and children were not to be touched and tonight they were going to completely go against their own rules but as Fabrizio had bluntly stated, Chiara was not a woman. She was evil incarnate. Malik and Brix had exchanged a long look when the man they had once watched peel a man’s flesh from his body while he was still alive had called someone else evil incarnate.

Brix’s vehicle reached the safehouse ahead of Elio’s purposefully. He and Malik exited the vehicle accompanied by six of their soldiers and entered the house. They owned the entire neighborhood. The people who lived on this street were family.

Brix kept his face straight and his posture stiff as they entered the house and descended the stairs to the basement. Chiara’s room was a locked cell in the basement comprised of a bed, a toilet and that was it. He nodded to the two men guarding the door to the room.

“Boss,” one of the men, Alfonso, nodded at him. “She was given a meal at seven. She pounded on the door about an hour ago demanding a bottle of wine which was refused.”

“She’s been a pain in the a*s?” He asked Alfonso already knowing the answer.

“She’s been a pain in the a*s since Elio assigned me to her a year ago when she f****d up by beating up her former guard’s wife, stabbing her in the thigh and almost killing her. Every day of my life since then has been spent listening to her self-entitled a*****e behavior. Finding out Elio wants to interrogate and put an end to her reign of terror is the stuff wet dreams are made of.”

“Tell me how you really feel,” Malik grunted as he motioned to the door. “Open it and bring her to the cellar.”

The two men guarding the door were stunned by Malik’s words. Alfonso paused. They didn’t know what exactly Chiara had done but the cellar was a room under the house, beneath the basement they were currently in. It was a room where the worst of the worst taken to be tortured and killed.

“The cellar?” Alfonso asked quietly.

“Did I f*****g stutter?” Malik glared at him.

“No, um, does Elio know –”

“Elio is no longer in charge,” Brix spoke bluntly. “What happens here tonight does not leave this house. My father will be here soon with the rest of our entourage. She does not leave alive.”

Malik turned on his heel and headed to the secret door leading to the room he wanted her in. “Let me know when Jerome arrives. He is bringing me a couple of gadgets I want to see for myself.”

Brix watched as the two men hesitated when Malik disappeared. “What the f**k are you waiting for?”

Alfonso shrugged, “not a f*****g thing. Can I ask a question?”

“If you must.”

“Can I watch whatever it is you’re going to do? I hate this b***h. The only reason I got stuck watching her is because Elio knew I wouldn’t put up with her s**t and I’d report every single thing she did. She’s psychotic.” He looked to Brix, “she hates you and having it be you is making this so much better for me.”

“You can watch. f**k sell tickets to the guys for the show for all I care. Just know if you participate you help with clean up.”

Alfonso agreed heartily and the thick metal door was pulled open and Chiara immediate bounced off the bed. Brix c****d his head at the vision. He’d never seen her as anything other than pristine. Her hair was always done and her make-up immaculate. Her clothes high-end, luxurious, and never wrinkled were never worn twice. The image before him with the scowling, unkempt, greasy-haired woman was not one he expected. It made him laugh. He couldn’t help it. His mood was immediately lightened.

“Chiara, you look like shit.”

“Brix, why did your father put me in here?”

“I know you know the reason for this Chiara. Tell me, when you told your disgrace of a son to beat the child out of the wife he kidnapped and kept prisoner, were you truly under the belief we would never find out?”

She glared at him, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Here’s the thing, Chiara. I know Dad told you we found Jolie. What he didn’t tell you was how we found all the missing gold, some of the missing drugs, and a whole slew of cash Val had hidden.”

“What does this have to do with me?”

“What your son didn’t tell you was he didn’t trust you an ounce. He kept evidence of your role in the entire thing in his safes.”

“Val trusted me. He was my baby and that b***h killed him.”

“That woman, that strong exceptional woman, did not kill him. Her wrist was broken and there was no way she pulled a trigger. She told us all about how Val told her to never tell you the hiding places of all his secrets. He didn’t trust you, Chiara. Do you know what he had in those hiding spaces?”

“Where’s Elio?” she refused to answer.

“He’ll be joining us shortly. He was putting your double on a flight to Italy after she signs your divorce papers.”

She paled at Brix’s words. “What?”

“The lady he has used as your double on occasion as a diversion when you were too drunk, high, or irritable to be seen in public? The one you insisted he have because you refused to attend parties with him. She is going to sign your divorce papers today in front of legal team and then she’s boarding a flight to Italy. It will keep the feds off his a*s.” He looked to Alfonso who was smiling like a kid in a candy store. “Malik is waiting for my stepmother in the cellar. Take her downstairs please.”

Chiara gripped his arm as Alfonso and the other guard grabbed her to take her downstairs, “no, Brix. You’re my son. You couldn’t do this to me.”

“Chiara, let me assure you. I despise you infinitely more than you have ever hated me. The way you pitted my brother and I against each other and turned him into the worst piece of s**t to walk the earth makes me loathe you. Mother is not the word I would ever use to describe you. I am not your son.”

Chiara struggled with the men and she screamed at Brix to let her go. She was struggling so much her feet were off the floor. Brix hauled off and punched her in the jaw. He’d never hit a woman before and both men stared at him in horror for striking her.

“That’s for Jolie, you vile bitch.” He stepped closer her eyes fluttering shut as she floated between consciousness and lucidity. “I can’t wait for Malik to paint your back with the toys you gave Val. When we’re done with you, the best coroner in the country won’t be able to identify your corpse.”

“I will tell you whatever you want –”

“You have nothing I need to hear.”

He rocked on his heels as the men took her away. The satisfaction of delivering the first blow of many the woman would receive warmed his b***d. In his head, he had the images of the scars of Jolie’s body and the photographs of the file he’d gotten from the cops who had photographed her when she’d been taken to hospital. Knowing Chiara had tortured Jolie, had encouraged Val to beat and rape her, had provided him the tools to enhance his masochism and had threatened her repeatedly, was simmering under his skin. Never had he wanted to inflict pain on someone as much as he did in this moment. He wanted vengeance for his wife. He was going to get it.

He followed the men dragging the semi-conscious woman down the stairs and nodded to Jerome who was coming in.

“Tell me you didn’t start without me,” he noted the woman being dragged away.

“Nah, shut her up enough for the guys to get her downstairs.”

Once they had her downstairs, they got her set up. Malik chained her with her arms suspended on either side and her feet tethered together by chains and a giant bolt to the floor.

“Don Cacciola,” Jerome made the show in front Chiara and kissed Brix’s ring. “It is my honor to serve you as I did your father. I know he is proud to leave this family in your hands. I also will be taking great pleasure in assisting Malik in avenging your wife’s honor.”

“Wife?” Alfonso spoke up.

“Yes, I got married this afternoon. You have a new Dona.”

The sound of feet coming down the stairs made the men look up as Arturo came in followed by Elio and Fabrizio.

“Ah the entire family is here,” Brix looked to his father’s youngest brother and nodded, “Uncle.” Arturo had been in Boston at the earlier part of the week but had flown home ahead of them to prepare for the trip to Mexico. He wasn’t surprised to see he’d joined them in this room.

Arturo crossed the room quickly kissed Brix’s cheeks warmly and then kissed his ring. “I am proud to serve you, my nephew.”

Elio looked to Chiara who immediately started to plead for Elio to get her down. He looked to Alfonso, “yes, to elaborate, Brix and Malik both got married today. They married the same woman.”

“No s**t!” Alfonso pulled his head back in surprise. “Very cool.”

“Yes, it is very cool.”

“Anyone we know?”

“Yes, the daughter of the accountant.”

“He has a daughter?”

“He does,” Brix said as he watched Chiara twisting and turning from her suspended position and then his half-smirk turned into a full-blown evil grin as Jerome passed a large black bag to Malik who pulled out a cat-o-nine-tails and a large cane with a giant bent barb on the end. He saw Chiara start to panic at the sight. “Our new bride was taken prisoner by Val almost seven years ago due to a mistake made by our accountant. It seems my brother had his mother helping him hide all kinds of terrible things. Meetings with enemies, stealing from our alliances, kidnapping innocent women, and holding them prisoner and not allowing them to see the light of day. Every single thing my fool brother did, his mother helped him hide from Dad and I. Normally nothing gets past us but Val was given liberties because of his position as my brother and a Cacciola heir. His mother hid the things he got sloppy with.”

“Well f**k. He kidnapped an innocent?” Alfonso asked curiously, sneering at Chiara. “And she helped?”

“Val forced her into a marriage, got her pregnant twice, beat one of the pregnancies out of her at Chiara’s encouragement. Chiara instead of reporting this information to her husband, encouraged his torture by buying him tools to use on her and making sure his crimes were hidden. Tonight, as punishment for her involvement she is going to be treated to the uses of the tools she purchased.”

“Wait,” Elio spoke up as Malik lifted his hand over his head holding the whip ready to land the first strike. He moved to stand in front of Chiara. “I know we never loved each other. We barely liked each other. I gave you a good life and anything you could have wanted but you destroyed our son and worse, you killed our first grandchild.”

“First?” She whimpered as he glared at her.

“Yes Chiara, our first. You see, Jolie when she ran, was pregnant for the second time. She’s a beautiful little girl and I am besotted with her. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for her or her mother. I watched a video last night, Chiara. Val liked to record everything he did to poor Jolie.”

“No. I would have known if he had cameras.”

“We tore the apartment down to the studs this week. He had so many cameras and so many angles. He had too many videos of you watching his activities for years. He moved into the condo on his eighteenth birthday. We have eight full years of videos to go through. It sickens me how much you were part of his wickedness and encouraged him.”

“No. It is not true. Elio. You must believe me. I would never –”

He stepped closer, “You held a gun to her head while Val forced her to recite wedding vows and then you kept the gun trained on her head while he forced her to give him oral s*x. Then when he choked her out and she was passed out, you repeatedly kicked her in the stomach and ribs for not being good enough for your precious boy.” He moved to Malik and took the whip from his hands. “I didn’t think I would be able to stomach this tonight. I had intended to let Malik and Jerome handle this and I would deal with other business matters. Then I watched the video. Tonight, I am taking the first steps in restitution to my new daughter, the child you murdered when you ordered Val to beat it out of her and the granddaughter, I have missed five full years from. I will take five strikes for each year I have missed of Pia’s life.”

Brix didn’t tear his gaze away as his father took the whip and with all his might swung it across her back, five times. B***d dripped to the floor as he passed the whip back to Malik and then moved to take a seat at a nearby table, drawing a cigarillo from his pocket and lighting it, drawing deep on it. His father was stoic and cool as he smoked casually while his wife of forty years was tortured and beaten.

When her screams drew to a close and she fell unconscious the two men working her used chemicals wafting under her nose to wake her back up and started all over.

By dawn, the woman was deceased and was taken apart by the clean up crew to be disposed of and never heard from again.

Malik’s shirt which had been soaked with sweat and b***d was discarded and Brix winked at him, “I think Jolie would like the view.”

Malik chuckled as he accepted a clean t-shirt as they left the basement and entered the main floor of the house. “She did say she was going to check us over for injuries. I have half a mind to have a couple of bumps and bruises for her to k**s them better.”

Alfonso leaned against a wall. “You really share a wife, huh?”

“Yes. Is this a problem for you?”

“Nope. Welcome to the new age of Cacciola. I have a question though. She’s the accountant’s daughter, right? So why then when Val took kidnapped her, did he not say anything to the Don? They’re tight, aren’t they?”

“Well, my friend,” Brix slapped his shoulder, “it’s where we are headed next. Cosimo needs to answer for his role.”

“She survived Val and then still had his kid?” Alfonso asked with his eyes narrowed.

“Yes.” Malik nodded, “and she is still the sweetest, kindest woman I’ve ever met. She doesn’t want us to harm her father and begged us not to do anything too vile to Chiara. She has Juan Rueda after her and she suggested we sit down and chat with him.”

Alfonso laughed, “she is too good for our family.”

“She is but she is ours and we will do everything in our power to pay her back for the hell Val put her through.”

Alfonso nodded, “well my current assignment is now ended,” he said with a smirk, “I’m happy to serve you, Don, in whatever capacity you need me. As your wife, she is my queen and I will serve her as you order. Let’s go talk to the accountant and find out what the hell he was thinking.”

“Let’s,” Brix agreed as the group of men left the house to carry out their weekend of debauchery. Brix paused and looked at the group. “This is kind of a fun Vegas weekend. Feels like a bachelor party.”

The laughs followed him to the SUV.
