Aurora's heart pounded wildly, but she forced herself to appear calm, her expression resolute and righteous.

"Theo, my conscience is clear. But if you truly believe I did it, you can send me to prison. You can do whatever you want with me. As long as it makes you feel better, I'm willing to do anything for you."

Aurora knelt on the floor, holding his hands tightly.

"Theo, I know your grandmother's death has devastated both you and Rosalie. I don't mind being the one you vent your anger on. Do whatever you want. Even though I didn't do it, I'll confess to it once we get to the police station."

"Do you even know what you're saying?" Theodore asked.

Aurora smiled bitterly. "Of course, I know. Rosalie thinks I did it. Even though she has no proof, I understand that you don't want her to suffer. If...if I take the blame, it'll ease her pain, won't it? If she feels better, you'll feel better too. I'm willing to do this for you. But I hope that after I confess, you'll let Angie off the hook. She had nothing to do with this. I can bear the blame and go to prison, but Angie doesn't deserve to suffer."

Tears filled Aurora's eyes as she looked at him.

"Theo, all I want is for you to have a happy life. That's enough for me. Anyway, I know I'll lose you no matter what. When you broke up with me last time, I already knew you didn't want me anymore."

Aurora's tears fell like raindrops, streaming down her face.

"But I still love you. I'm willing to do anything for you. Theo, take me to the police, then tell Rosalie that you believe her, that it really was me. Maybe then the two of you can reconcile. I'm willing to be your stepping stone."

Theodore looked at her in silence. After a long while, he let out a soft sigh. "Why would you do this? If you didn't do it, there's no need to admit to it." "Theo, don't you understand? I'm doing this for you. Don't you want to make things right with Rosalie? You can't fool me, and you can't fool yourself. I'm willing to help you reconcile with her, even if it ruins my life. Because I love you. No one in this world loves you more than I do."

Aurora's tear-streaked face, so delicate and pitiful, would stir sympathy in anyone's heart.

Theodore raised a hand and gently touched her cheek. "Aurora, you're so foolish."

"I am foolish. What can I do? Theo,

I'm in love with you. Right now, you're the only one I see." She threw herself into his arms and sobbed. "As long as it makes you happy, I'll do anything."

Theodore let out a soft sigh and embraced her. "I'm sorry for suspecting you."

For a moment, he had thought that maybe Rosalie was telling the truth. But seeing Aurora like this, he couldn't bear to doubt her anymore.

He believed that Aurora loved him. And if she loved him, how could she possibly harm Rebecca?

"Aurora, I'll get to the bottom of this. Even though I trust that it wasn't you, I still need to investigate further."

Rebecca's death still needed to be investigated. He couldn't entirely dismiss what Rosalie had said.

Aurora secretty breathed a sigh of relief. She wiped the tears from her face and tooked up at him. "You're right. This must be thoroughly investigated. Otherwise, your grandmother won't rest in peace."

"Alright, stop crying," Theodore said as he gently wiped her tears away.

"Okay." Aurora nodded.

"I'm sorry for calling you over so late. Let me take you home," Theodore said.

"Theo, I can stay and keep you company. I'll worry if you stay here alone."

"I'm leaving too. My grandmother has already passed, so no one will live here anymore. Let's go," Theodore said as he helped Aurora to her feet and led her out of the villa.
