Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) -
Chapter 1216
Justin brought the baby home and saw Rosalie spacing out before the kitchen counter. She didn't even realize they were home.
"Mama," Steve called out to her.
Rosalie heard him and turned to look at them. "You're back."
She took Steve from Justin's hands and held him in her arms.
"Rose, are you alright? What did Theodore tell you?" Justin asked.
"Aurora felt guilty and made Angie her scapegoat. Angie has been nabbed by the police," Rosalie replied.
Justin frowned. "Angie surely wouldn't be a sitting duck. She'll expose Aurora."
"That's not wrong," Rosalie said. "The problem is, Aurora is too good at putting up a facade. Theodore doesn't trust Angie and he said he'll investigate things and find out if Aurora was involved. At the end of the day, he refuses to believe that Aurora is capable of something like that. He subconsciously thinks that Angie was solely responsible."
"That sounds like something he would do," Justin concluded. "Last time, I could tell he's very protective of that woman. But don't worry. At least, this proves that you were right to include their heinous act in the book. They panicked, and now, Angie's caught. All we're left to deal with is Aurora. It's only a matter of time."
"You're right. No matter what, at least Angie has been caught. Aurora will be next."
Rosalie's gaze became firm.
A few days later, Aurora read the latest chapter of the novel about how she made Angie her scapegoat.
Who exactly was writing this novel?!
Aurora's heart raced. Phone in hand, she dialed a number with trembling fingers.
"Hello, I want to see you."
In the middle of the night, Aurora arrived at a bungalow. The place was secluded, but the lights in the house were still switched on. She could smell barbecued meat when she entered.
When she saw a man standing before a barbecue pit in the courtyard, grilling squid, she frowned.
She found the man highly peculiar. He was clearly a vicious man, the mastermind behind everything that was happening yet whenever she met him, he always looked so down-to-earth.
Previously, she saw him gardening. Today, he was busy with a barbecue.
"You're here. I have a lot of food, come and have some," Yerick called out to her eagerly.
Aurora didn't have much appetite and her face was still pale. She hadn't recovered from her suicide attempt a few days back.
"Angie got caught by the police and I
put the blame firmly on her. She claimed that I was the guilty one, but she had no proof. What's more, I tried to commit suicide and
vein
Theodore's stance softened toward me. I'm safe for now."
Aurora's direct opener made Yerick smile. "Isn't that great?"
"I can't guarantee that no one will believe Angie's words. Can you help me deal with her?" she begged.
Yerick picked up a few skewers of
squid and blew gently on it. He then sprinkled some seasoning on them. "Angie makes baseless claims and has no proof. What are you scared of? The more guilty you look the more they will suspect you.
A
"Does she really have no proof? Are you sure?" Aurora said.
"Aurora Payne, we're on the same boat," Yerick said coldly. "Of course I'll make sure all evidence has been eliminated. If I were so careless, I would have exposed myselfcong age."
"But Angie..."
"Alright," Yerick said, cutting her off. "I know you're worried. I'll make sure she shuts up. I have many things I need you to do, after all. I can't see you get caught."
His promise made Aurora heave a sigh of relief.
"Oh yes," Aurora said as she showed Yerick the novel on her phone. "This novel's author wrote what Angie and I did in her novel. I suspect Rosalie is the author of this novel."
Yerick glanced at her phone screen. "How do you know she was the one who wrote it?"
"Who else could it be? If only she would die! Help me kill her, won't you?" A wild look flashed past the depths of Aurora's eyes.
Yerick's eyes turned dark. He flung the squid skewer in his hand away, turned around, and slapped Aurora hard.
