Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 143
EZRA'S P.O.V
I suddenly awoke to screaming. What the hell was going on? The last thing I remember was being forced against the wall and kicked. How the hell did I allow such an attack? I was the f*****g King!
'But we aren't nearly as powerful as Iblis. He has powers we will never even come close to.' My wolf tried reasoning.
But that didn't help, it's still embarrassing as a king to be taken out that fast without even a fight. How do I expect to save my mate if I can't even save myself? All my training over the years has been rendered useless if I get knocked out with a single blow. "You need to try harder! We have to get out of here!" A male voice screamed out.
I fluttered open my eyes to look around. The room was blurry momentarily before it slowly cleared. Where was I?
"I can't! I'm powerless!" The familiar voice of my mate screamed.
My eyes shot over to see her beautiful red hair sway as she pushed her hands at the door.
"It's all in your head, Tegan! If you don't get past his hold, what makes you think you can beat him!?" The guy standing next to her asked angrily.
"Trystan, I'm telling you. It's useless!"
"No, you're in denial. This room has a way of making you feel weak. You need to remind your inner self that you are not that weak, pathetic girl they are showing. You are a damn tribal wolf for crying out loud!"
"Who are you to call anyone weak or pathetic!" I hollered as I stumbled from the ground to my feet.
"Oh great, he is awake. Which means we have even less time to get the damn door open." He said as he completely ignored me.
"Ezra!" Tegan then screamed out as her body crashed against mine. A dull ache could be felt, I must have broken something with the blow to the chest. I ignored the pain as I embraced my mate.
"I was so worried! What happened?" She asked as she pulled away.
"Iblis probably kicked his a*s," the man responded with a laugh.
"Don't listen to him, he is an asshole," Tegan said while her eyes shot daggers at him.
"So you must be the oldest brother." I finally said, looking at the man who was responsible for taking my mate hostage.
"I wouldn't go as far as calling myself her brother. But I guess we share some blood lineage." He responded, looking at me before he cut his eyes to look back over at Tegan. "We need to get out of here before Iblis gets his hands on the key." "Lucy won't go down without a fight," I replied defensively.
"Lucy? It's Lucy?" Tegan asked, her eyes full of concern.
"Am I missing something? Who is Lucy?" Trystan then asked.
"My best friend. Another Tribal wolf and apparently your half-sister." Tegan responded, confusing me.
"Wait what?" I quickly asked.
"We just found out that the key was Iblis's daughter. I had no clue who it was. Which makes her Trystan's half-sister."
"That's weird."
"How? People fuck, women get knocked up. It's the basic nature of reproduction," Trystan replied sarcastically.
"No, what's weird is the fact that your half-siblings are mates," I said with a laugh. "The Moon Goddess has a funny way of bringing people together." I then said, making Tegan laugh. But Trystan was left utterly confused. "What does that even mean?"
"That means your half-brother Fredrick and your half-sister Lucy are fated mates," Tegan responded to his question.
"That's disgusting."
"Well, they aren't related. They simply just share a sibling." I responded with a shrug.
"Still, that's f*****g weird," he said before looking back over at Tegan. "We need to stop wasting time, it's now or never. Are you willing to allow Iblis to get his hands on your best friend?"
"I've already told you I can't. What else do you want from me? I have been at it for a while with no success. I am powerless here, get it through your head!"
"Tell your stubborn ass mate that she has a magical mind block. Make her feel special or whatever the hell mates do and help her realize she is not powerless, it's all in her head."
"If she says she is powerless, then she is powerless."
"Good fucking goddess. Are you that weak that you agree with everything and act like anything she says is accurate? You are both delusional. Why the hell did either of you ever think you could overpower Iblis when you can't even overpower his simple little mind trick?"
"The mind is a powerful tool, Trystan. Nothing about this is simple," Tegan replied, angrily. But his words kept replaying in my head.
When did I become so weak-minded? I know she is powerful, but when did I switch from this powerful, feared Alpha to one who submits so quickly to the idea that what my mate says is always right? Of course, we are all wrong sometimes.
"He has a point. If it's just a mind block, then I know you can overcome it, T." I then said, making them both look surprised. "No, I can't."
"Yes, you can. You need to try, if not for yourself or Lucy, then do it for the world. Demons are getting out left and right, leaving our little boy a target. You need to overcome whatever you are feeling right now so we can get out of here to save the world from damnation."
"I already failed, don't you see that?"
"Is that what this is? A pity party?"
"No."
"Sure sounds that way to me. Get over it, Tegan. We have no time to sit and wallow in the what-ifs. The door was opening regardless. We knew that. Now we have to close the damn thing and the only way we are doing that is if you get it together." I said in a more aggressive tone.
"Finally, some fucking backbone," Trystan said with an eye roll.
"I don't know how!" Tegan screamed in anger.
"Yes, you do. You've been training for this. Close your eyes and get him out of your head. It's just like before when y'all shared a mind. You can do it, Tegan." I said as I placed a hand on her arm reassuringly.
Suddenly, the room began to rapidly turn.
"What's happening? Tegan, are you doing this?" I asked quickly.
"Bloody hell," Trystan yelled out.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Another little mind fuck." Trystan replied as the room morphed into the kingdom.
"Wait, that's my pack. What the hell is happening?" I asked, looking around.
"Don't worry, it'll only hurt a little," Trystan responded.
An all-out war was actively happening. Bodies were flying left and right. Crimson blood smeared the ground.
"This looks familiar," I said breathlessly, as the memories began to slowly come forward from the worst day of my life.
"It should. It's your memory." Trystan responded.
It was then that I realized what was about to happen. I looked to the right where I knew what was coming.
"RUN EZRA, GET OUT!" The voice I never thought I'd hear again screamed.
"I'M NOT LEAVING YOU, DAD!" Another image of me screamed to him as a dagger came from nowhere, landing directly in his chest cavity. Blood began to pour from his mouth as his body hit the ground. I screamed in horror as I collapsed, tears streaming down my face. "Weak pup, couldn't even save your precious daddy." The vicious voice of my enemy echoed all around.
"No. I should have stopped it. I could have fought. I could have saved him. I should have saved him." I screamed out as I ran forward, passing the memory of myself on the ground as I tried to hit the murderer of my father. Only the figments of my imagination were translucent and my arms went through him.
"Watch as I rip his heart from his chest and eat it!" The man screamed at the memory of me who was still on his knees heartbroken. Which made real tears fall down my face as I watched on, knowing what was coming next.
"I'll get us out of here. Don't watch!" Tegan screamed as she pulled me to her and pushed her hands so hard against the air that the hologram broke free and the memory rapidly changed back to the black pads. "Fucking finally, now let's get us out of here," Trystan said as he grabbed her hand.
