TEGAN'S P.O.V

I couldn't help but sit and think about our predicament. Not only did Iblis get away with his life intact, but there were demons out on the loose all around the world now as well. That wasn't even the worst part. The worst part was that we awakened the most feared supernatural huntress known to our kind. She was feared enough by the royal families that they separated all the sword parts across the world. While also storing her mummified body in a magically sealed tomb, one she could probably escape now that she was "What makes you think she won't come for the sword first?" I asked cautiously.

awake.

"Because without the gem it doesn't serve its purpose for her. Her goal is to capture souls and trap them in the worst type of hell there is. Not just kill them off." Trystan replied casually.

"Why would you risk releasing her into our world full of supernatural families?"

"I figured if Iblis was dead it would have been worth it. I wanted to take him down so badly and I figured between all of us powerful beings we could kill Iblis then break the sword apart before she could completely awaken."

"You would rather risk all of our lives just to end his?" Marci asked, surprised.

"None of this played out how it was supposed to. It all went south fast." He admitted while looking down.

"So let's just break it apart again?" I suggested.

"It's not that easy."

"Ezra, how do you all of a sudden know so much about the bloody Blade?" Trystan asked.

"Aside from the small stories I was told growing up, I have this weird feeling inside. I can't explain it."

"I think he has some magical connection to the sword from being the carrier of the main blade when the three became one," I said, looking between the group.

"I don't understand how that's possible. He is a supernatural being. No supernatural being should have any form of connection to a sword that was made for the sole purpose of destroying us." Trystan exclaimed. "How do we separate them?" I asked next.

"Only a certain bloodline of a witch can do the magical performance. The only one who can perform the ritual is the direct descendant of the originating witch who created the sword. So, if we figure out who created the curse, we can then figure out how to break it." Ezra explained.

"What will we do until then?"

"I guess we will have to put it back in the magical safe that my parents kept it in," Ezra said.

"That was made to contain only one of the blades, not all three, and definitely not all three combined."

"We have no other choice, Trystan. There is nothing else we can do aside from storing it. We have to buy ourselves some time."

"You know as well as I know that she can see wherever the blade is. She has a fifth sense. All she has to do is close her eyes and she can see it." Trystan tried explaining.

"But if it is in the magical safe it will make it harder for her to see. Therefore, it can be contained long enough for us to figure out how to fix your fuck up."

"Wha...What's going on? Where am I?" The sound of Lucy's voice echoed out.

We all turned to look at a very confused Lucy.

"She will need to be restrained until we can figure out if Iblis's effects have worn off,"

I felt bad, but I agreed with Trystan. She was under his effects and none of us knew aside from Talissa, who didn't even know her.

"The last thing I remember was keeping the demons from banging on the door while going to extract Tegan from the underworld." She then said while rubbing her head.

"A lot has happened since then," I replied as I approached her cautiously.

She looked around, trying to make sense of her whereabouts.

"How did I get here?"

"Tegan, we have to get back to the kingdom and conceal this sword before Alex fully awakens and sees exactly where it is," Ezra said as he took my hand.

"Wait, what did I miss? Who is Alex and what's so important about concealing a sword?"

"Come on Luc, let's get you home. You need to rest and we need to figure out how to restore you to yourself. Or at least ensure Iblis's effects are no longer affecting you." I said, ignoring her question as I reached out to her. She went to stand and as she did her leg hit the body lying next to her.

"Fredrick!" Lucy screamed out as she crawled over to his unconscious body. "FREDRICK!"

"He's okay, just passed out from almost dying," Trystan said with a laugh.

"It's not funny! What happened to my mate? Who did this!?"

We all looked at one another in a questionable way. Was she prepared to know the truth? Could she handle knowing all that she had done?

"Let's just get you both back to the kingdom, okay?" I asked, hoping that she would drop it long enough to get them safely back home.

"He is okay though, right?" She asked with a tear-streaked face.

I had a feeling she knew what happened deep down, but was suppressing the knowledge to deal with it easier.

"He's fine. No physical harm came to him. I made sure of that, okay?"

"O...Okay..." She then said, stuttering over her words as she stood up.

"Trystan, can you carry Fredrick?" I then asked as I guided Lucy out of the woods. "And Ez, you are in control of that sword, okay?" He nodded in agreement while we all continued to walk out.

Once out of the woods, there were hundreds of women standing there waiting for their next command.

"What am I supposed to do with them? I don't have a place to store them."

"They aren't objects to be stored, Trystan."

"I know that. But come on, I lived in the underworld. I don't have the means or the property to house them."

"They can reside in the empty houses where we keep the young Alphas during training. We will work on getting housing for you all in the meantime."

"That would require land which I do not have."

"But I do," Marci said, interjecting our conversation.

We all looked back at her questionably.

"I had a life before your father, you know. One I kept to myself."

"You have a house?"

"I have more than just a house, Tegan. I am the owner of the land that was once resided by The Shadow Pack."

"The pack that was wiped out?"

"That would be the one. I am the last living member. I inherited the land when my family died. I kept a spell on it to ward off any squatters. But it has been years since I have been there. We could clear off the land, fix the homes, and create a "A new pack, just like that?" Trystan asked.

"Where do you think packs originate? Of course, just like that. I'm sure the land will need a lot of work, but we can make it a home."

"Until it's habitable you can all stay in the Alpha training grounds. They will have to bunk together in groups of ten just like the Alphas did, but I'm sure that's no problem."

"I appreciate the assistance, anything is helpful."

"After what you did, you should. I should turn my head and let you figure it out yourself."

"Ezra..."

"No Tegan, he f****d us all over more than one time. He is secretive and destructive. He should be grateful we are even still allowing him to live, let alone help him build a damn pack."

He was angry, as he should be. Hell, all of us had a right to be pissed off. But in Trystan's head, he was doing the world a favor. I doubt he would have done it had he known how badly his plan would backfire.

"Let's just get home. We have a ton of work to do. As a team this time," I said, emphasizing the word team.

new pack."

We were definitely going to have to get our shit together. We needed to find the bloodline of the witch who originally cast the spell and then separate this sword before we all became the hunt. I just pray that we find out who the original witch is so that we can find their descendants quickly. More than just our lives depend on it now.
