Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 43
TEGAN'S P.O.V
Once I got Tanner safely out of Liam's pack lands, I felt relief wash over me. I had him now going to go do a special mission for me.
'I wish we could've left with him. This doesn't feel right being here!'
'I think this is exactly where we are needed.
Once back at the packhouse, I entered to hear more whispers. I liked being able to hear. I didn't realize the benefit of hearing until Celeste gave me the gift. I don't think those who can hear realize how beneficial it is. They definitely don't cherish it like they should, that's for sure.
I started walking around aimlessly, not really lost, more like snooping. Getting a feel of the home. I needed to know the place in and out for my own benefit.
"My love, where are you going?" I heard Liam's voice call out. I let go of a door handle and whipped around.
"Sorry, I just returned from escorting Tanner out. I must've gotten lost. I cannot seem to find my room." I replied, lying.
"And where is your maid? She was told to be with you at all times. So, you don't wonder somewhere off limits."
"I dismissed her. I'm sorry, my love. I didn't realize there were off-limit rooms." I spoke.
"This entire wing is off limits. It was my fault for rushing off before telling you. Follow me, I will escort you back to your room."
I walked toward him, turning back to look at the east wing of the pack house. I needed to look into this wing further, without getting caught, that is.
We finally entered the wing my room was on.
"Here we are." He said, smiling.
"Thank you." I replied, going into my room.
He closed the door, leaving me inside. I stood there staring at it, confused by his behavior. Not even a moment had gone by when I heard screaming in the hallway. "YOU WERE TO REMAIN AT HER SIDE 24 HOURS A DAY! HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY!"
The voice of Liam echoed before the sound of a smack bounced off the walls, followed by a whimper.
-Poor girl, I wish she had never been taken in. - I heard one of the voices before.
I decided to ignore the voice and open the door. Liam hovered over the girl's shaking body as she laid flat on the ground whimpering.
"Is there a problem?" I asked, looking between them.
"Not at all, my love, the poor girl lost her balance and fell. I was simply helping her up." He replied before grabbing her arm, forcing her frail body to her feet. "Be careful what you do next time, girl. You could get hurt." I knew it was meant as a threat.
"Yes, Master Alpha." She replied before sulking away.
Master, what kind of shit is that?
"Are you okay?" I asked when she got to me. A red handprint clearly across her face.
"She is fine, she simply lost her balance, klutzy thing." Liam responded.
"I advise the next time you lay a hand on an innocent person that it be on someone that can defend themselves." I said before closing the door.
"You should not have done that. Master Alpha does not appreciate those talking back to him."
"I am his equal."
"Luna Lilly wasn't."
"Lilly, that was the name of his first mate?"
"I should not have said that."
"Tallie, I won't hurt you. Please, I need you to talk to me. It is the only way I can help you. Help all of you."
-The girl is smart and brave. Maybe she will do after all. -
"I may sound crazy but give me just a moment before you judge me. Okay?" I said, making Tallie's face scrunch up confused.
"Who is here? I can hear you talking. Show yourself!" I hollered at the voice that kept putting their input in.
-Surely, she isn't talking to us? - The other voice stated.
"Yes, I am talking to you. Who are you and why won't you show yourself?"
"Luna, are you okay?" Tallie asked, confused.
"One minute, Tallie. I have to figure out who is talking."
"But nobody is here other than us."
"Nobody you can hear or see. But somebody is here." I stated flatly.
-I think she is talking to us. -
"Yes, you. Show yourself."
'Use your powers, Tegan. Make them.' Gemma said.
I took a deep breath before moving my two fingers around in a circle. The air around begins to circulate like a tornado.
"How... how are you doing that?" Tallie asked, scared.
I continued to swirl the air around me until dust flew upward, giving the ghostly figures a shape.
"There you both are. Who are y'all?" I asked the two figures that now stood in front of us. Making Tallie gasp.
"Very talented she is." The woman said with a smile.
"She will be perfect." The man next to her then said next.
"I can hear you, so how about, instead of commenting to one another you speak to me."
"Very well. I am -"
"Alpha Lenard and Luna Willow." Tallie then said.
"Can you hear them?" I asked Tallie. Only for her to shake her head no in response.
"I only saw them for a moment, when the dust hit them. They are no longer there though. I didn't know that ghost existed." She said, looking at the place they still stood. "Poor girl cannot see or hear us, only you can. You did give her a little show with the dust though." The man stated.
"Are you Liam's parents?" I asked, as a sadness washed over them.
"Sadly." The man said, his wife now sobbing next to him. "The boy is a lost cause. Everything he touches turns to destruction."
"They're still here?" Tallie asked next to me. I only shook my head yes in response.
"How come you're the only one that can see us?" The woman I now know as Willow finally spoke.
"I am gifted." I responded.
"Sent to save my pack, I hope." Lenard stated.
"Sent to save the realm." I corrected.
"From my Liam?" Willow asked next.
"I am not sure. Maybe. What do you know?" I asked.
"That the boy is troubled." Lenard spoke next.
"He is just misguided, Len." Willow said defensively.
"He had a good upbringing. He got a taste of that black magic, that is what ruined his soul!" Lenard screamed. "Witches?" I asked.
"Not just any witch. Helga Arthron."
"I know another by that last name..."
"There are only three. Arlo, Helga and his bastard half breed child Hele... -"
"Helena." I said finishing his sentence.
"How do you know Helena? She's been dead for centuries. Helga destroyed her."
"She was my caregiver." I stated.
"Helena was a half breed, a disgrace to their legacy. Helga despised her."
"You sure know a lot about Helga."
"Of course. She was the one who had my son rip my heart out with his own bare hands." Lenard said angrily.
He failed to mention he was the one who murdered his parents in cold blood...
