No one’s POV

Also, a part of her didn’t have the courage to look toward him for another reason. She was feeling guilty for breaking the promise she made yesterday. Obviously she didn’t have any intention of accepting Zayden’s offer.

Zayden stood up straight, came toward her, while removing his goggles. He straightaway came in front of Grace. Now, she didn’t have any other choice than to talk with this criminal. Usually at times like this, she would greet the person, but she was not sure that this criminal deserved the same treatment or not! So, she kept quiet.

Zayden felt bad seeing that she was still afraid of him. But then, he didn’t expect a miracle to happen in a day.

“I know you are not dumb, sweetheart! Aren’t you going to greet me?”, He said, trying to pick up a topic from the previous night to talk with her. But, a single joke from him, seemed like a warning to her.

‘Now you are so dead.’, She thought.

“Good.Good Morning?”, She said, more like asked and then mentally cursed at her stupidity level. How could she forget that it was 10 PM already.

Zayden smiled after listening to her. “You are so cute, Sweetheart!”

‘What are you doing there, Grace? Tell him that you want to go home.’, Her mother’s voice rang over the call, making Grace realize that she hadn’t disconnected the call yet. But Grace had no idea that even Zayden could hear her conversation with her mother, being a perk of werewolf. His eyes narrowed reflexively and snatched the phone from Grace’s hand.

“Grace will not be coming home this early.”, Zayden stated. The color of Grace’s face drained when she heard Zayden’s voice but she mustered all her courage to speak with this criminal.

“It’s getting late, sir. Grace should return home early if her shift has ended early.”, Her mother tried to state her point. Zayden raised his eyebrow as he heard the fearless sound of Grace’s mother. He was trying to keep himself as calm as he could because the woman on the other side of the call was Grace’s mother.

“I am aware of that.”

“So, she should RETURN home.”, Her mother said, stressing the word return.

“Don’t worry about that. I will drop her at home.”, Zayden stated and disconnected the call without waiting for her to continue further and instead of returning Grace’s mobile to her. He kept it with himself.

“Si..Zayden, that’s my m…mobile.”, Grace muttered softly pointing toward the pocket of his three-peice suit.

“I will return it later.”, Zayden said in a stern tone, making her mouth shut. “So much time wasted.”, he muttered to himself which Grace could hear very clearly but didn’t say anything on it. Zayden had no idea how much Grace hated him now, with the fear, ofcourse.

“Now, tell me, whose idea was to sneak away two hours before when I had clearly mentioned that, i will pick you up at time?”, Zayden asked in a serious tone.

At first, how the hell did he find out my plan about sneaking out? Is he a vampire? And has he the power to ready my mind like Edward Cullen? No, he can’t be. I can’t tell my mother’s name., who knows he will kill her. Neither could I say mine because I didn’t even want to die. What should I answer him now?’, Grace kept thinking, not having the strength to speak.

“Speak up, Grace.! I am waiting.” He said, and took out his gun swiftly, as if he had been practicing that. He played with the gun over his fingers while Grace’s eyes popped out because of fear. “I made it clear about what I do to the people who ignore me. Tell me whose idea was it?”, He asked again, taking a step forward. Seeing his advance, Grace quickly took two small steps back. The moment she was about to take the third step, Zayden held her wrist and pulled her in his arms.

“I..It was no..no one’s idea. M.My shift ended to.toinght earlier com*pare to other days.”, She lied. Though Zayden could smell her lies. He tried not to get angry at her because he didn’t want to scare her more than she already did.

A smile came up into his lips, feeling her this close to him. He knew whose ideas it could be. HER MOTHER. But he wanted to see what she would say. He had expected that she would take all the blame on herself to protect her mother and after that he would threaten her to k**s him as a punishment to lie but THEN, Grace said something which never crossed his mind.

“Great then. In this way, you can spend some time with me as well.”, Zayden suggested looking at her intently.

“But I..I want to g.go home be..because I am hu..hungry.”, Grace tried to give an excuse so that she could reach home as soon as possible. While Zayden’s eyes lit up recalling Eric’s words. ‘First dinner and then date and then proposal, then Marriage.’ Grace herself was saying that she was hungry, so he couldn’t get any better chance to take her out for dinner, right?

“Okay then! I will take you the best place where we can have dinner.”,

Grace’s eyes widened after hearing Zayden’s words. She felt like she threw herself into the trap.

“I pr.prefer home made food. So, I was talking about ha.having my din.dinner at home.”

“So, you mean we both are going to have dinner at your home? Because I am hungry too, sweetheart.”, Zayden joked. But a part of him wished that she would say YES, so that he could meet her family or his soon to be family.

‘WHAT? At my home? Over my dead body. I will not endanger my family, you criminal.’, She wanted to scream loudly at him but she couldn’t. She didn’t anything just shook her head negatively. Zayden felt bad, but nevermind, he still had another option with him.

“Then you should come with me.”, he said smilingly. With this, he went toward the co-driver seat and opened the door for her and signaled her to come inside.

While Grace was still scared with the thought of going somewhere alone with him. The thought of killing her or forcing her in a private place thrilled her. Her fear was obvious after all, she knew his real character.

“Come in, sweetheart! We don’t have the whole night. Even though I don’t mind spending the night with you.”, He said and smiled a little more while thinking about it.

Grace slowly made her way. She almost reached the car’s door when Zayden touched her back and gestured her to get in. She felt a shiver run in her body because of fear. She quickly sat inside and was about to fasten the seat belt when Zayden started doing it for her with his own hand, as if she was a child. Unintentionally her gaze lifted to meet his, and she realized he was looking at her. She quickly averted her eyes, cursing him under her breath.

He smiled before closing the door. He didn’t enter the car instantly as Grace had expected. Instead, he mind-linked Eric.

‘Hire the chef immediately, to make all of Grace’s favorite food, NOW.’

‘All food that too NOW, Alpha?’, Eric asked to be reconfirmed because they were werewolves, not magicians.

‘Do you have any problem with that?’, Zayden asked curtly, not liking the fact that Eric was questioning him even though he had stated the things clearly.

‘No! No problem, Alpha. I…I will get it done. Don’t worry.’, Eric replied, sensing Zayden’s irritation.

‘Perfect. I will be there in half an hour.’

‘Okay, Alpha. Anything else?’

‘No’, He said before closing the mind-link. A smile came up on his lips when he thought about having dinner with Grace. He didn’t remember when he had dinner with…anyone special. He opened the door and entered inside, giving her a small smile.

“Sorry for making you wait.”, He muttered, wondering why did he even apologize in the first place? Grace said nothing, just nodded her head.

Zayden started driving the car, planning to take Grace to his home. Twenty minutes passed, and no one said anything. Grace was too scared to do so after realizing that Zayden was taking her away from the town. Those roads were surrounded by the forests while Zayden was planning the dinner in his imagination. He wanted everything to be perfect. But the evil author had planned something different for them. Their car came to a halt when he saw there werewolves standing in the middle of the road and roaring loudly at Zayden’s car.

‘Not today.’, He thought and knew what was going to happen next.
