Chapter 41

No One’s POV

Zayden switched off the lights and approached the bed to lay on it. When he saw her still sitting, he held her arm and pulled her down so that she could lay close to him. Unfortunately for her, she fell on the bed facing him. Before she could sense the position in which she was, Zayden had already placed his arm on her waist, keeping her fixed.

“Zayd…”, She was about to say, when he cut her midway.

“You had said that you will give this marriage a chance. And for that we should get close, sweetheart.”, Zayden said instantly. When he felt that she was again going to protest again. He knew how to divert her mind, as it was the only means by which he could make her sleep with him, in the position they were now. “You were asking something before? Tell me. I know some questions are going on in your mind”, he asked.

She didn’t say anything as she was still feeling nervousness or say shyness because of the effect of this close proximity between them. She was having a hard time speaking.

“Don’t be shy, sweetheart. This is normal between married couples.”, He said, knowing her state of mind.

“I..I am not feeling shy.”, She defended herself to which Zayden chuckled.

“Really? Then I should do it often”, He joked to which Grace glared at him.

“How do you know that I have some questions in my mind?”, She asked, trying to change the topic because she didn’t want to get into the conversation with Zayden about the topic of CLOSE PROXIMITY because she knew she could never win.

“I know everything you think, feel or want, sweetheart.”

“But..but that’s not fair.”, She complained.

“Why?”, he asked, looking at her, wondering what was wrong in that?

“I don’t know a single thing about you but you know each and everything about me.”

“In that case, I will recommend you to put some effort into it. By the way, I never knew that day will come when you will show your interest in knowing me.”, He joked but stopped laughing when he saw Grace glaring at him AGAIN. “Okay, fine. What do you want to know about me?”

“You will not get angry?”, She asked nervously, thinking what if she asked something which she shouldn’t.

He placed his palm over her face in a reassuring gesture. “Drop this fear for me, sweetheart. I will never hurt you. So, get over this stupid thing.”, He said.

She waited for a while wondering from where to start and finally asked her first question. “Did you really give a mobile to my mother as a birthday gift or had some other intention to do that?”

“Frankly speaking, I did this to impress you. But it seems like the opposite happened. Moreover I knew that your mother would not have taken a penny from me but when I told her how much you miss her and talking with her on video call would make you feel good, then she couldn’t help from accepting my gift.”

‘You don’t have to impress me. I am not among those girls who get impressed with money.’, She thought sarcastically.

“Talking about my mother’s birthday, when is your birthday?”, She asked.

“Next month and the same date as of today.”, he replied.

“And how old are you?”, She asked.

“Thirty two”, he replied.

(Author Note: Pardon me, if I had mentioned another age of Zayden in earlier chapters. I clearly don’t remember that. Also, please correct Zayden’s age if you remember that.)

‘He is about five years older than me.’, She gasped internally.

“Where are your parents?”, She asked.

“They are no more.”, he replied bluntly.

She met his eyes with warmth. “I am sorry…”, She said.

“Don’t be. It’s not your fault.”

“Did…did you really..kill your..your own father?”, She asked hesitatingly, recalling her father’s words ‘A man who killed his own father and wanted to take revenge from his brother is definitely very dangerous.’.

“Yes.”, He answered instantly. He heard her gap but didn’t say anything. After all, it’s not common to kill your own father.

“But why?”, She asked. What would be the reason because of which a son had to kill his own father? The reason behind this would be really very big and since she was his wife now then she had the right to know about this fact.

“Long story.”, He said.

“I want to hear it.”

“My life isn’t as normal as yours. I don’t want to upset you by telling you about my life.”, he said.

“So, you will never tell me anything?”, She asked, raising her brow.

“Not now.”, He muttered.

‘Then when?’, she wanted to ask but then she decided to give him some time. “All right then tell me about your siblings.”, She asked.

He hesitated at this point. ‘Should we tell her about Wyatt?’ His wolf asked.

‘Of course not. She shouldn’t know about him. After all, she will never meet him. I will make sure of that.’, He said to his wolf and Zayden felt like his wolf didn’t like that fact but he didn’t say anything about it.

“I have a sister, named Allison. I have called her here. It will take her two days to come.”

“Why is she not staying with you?”

“First, she is still studying and second, it’s for her safety.”

“Study? How old is she?”

“Twenty five. Yes, she is still studying because she had dropped her studies by falling in love with John and he left her after leaving her pregnant.”

She gasped and cursed John for doing this with any girl. But still, his mistake was not that big for which he deserved DEATH.

“So, how is Allison’s baby?”

“She is no more.”

Grace again gasped when she heard this. She didn’t have the courage to ask further questions about it. Because the more replies which she was getting from Zayden, the more she was getting upset.

“Since you are an Alpha, the strongest among all the wolves in your pack then didn’t you consider even for a while that choosing me as your Luna is not a great idea? I mean you need someone stronger than a weakling like me?”, She asked, thinking if he was a werewolf then he should have chosen a werewolf as his wife instead of her.

“I don’t need a strong Luna beside me to rule a pack because I can do that on my own. But I needed that Luna beside me who has all those qualities which I don’t have. Just like king and queen, if Alpha is the father figure of the pack then Luna is the mother figure of the pack. Everyone are scared of me but I need my other half to be kind and generous so that everyone will have this in their mind that if not me then someone else is there, who will listen to them and have the power to control their Alpha, no matter whether she is a human or werewolf.”

Grace became speechless after hearing Zayden’s words. She didn’t know what to say next.

“And never….never think of yourself as weak. Because women are far more stronger than men in every way.”

“And how can you say that? You have never been a woman nor a human.”

“Well, that’s partially true. I agree that I have never been a woman but I was a human.”

“Human? How?”, She asked.

“Actually my mother was a human that’s why even I was a human before.”

“Then what happened? Someone changed you into a werewolf? Like a human changes into a vampire?”

“Nope. I was blessed with a wolf soul.”

“Oh…”, She muttered. “And what about your father? Even he was a human?”, She asked.

“No, he was an omega with no wolf.”

“Omega. The one who is in the lowest rank among all the wolves?”, Grace asked in which Zayden nodded his head.

“They have weak wolves or no wolves at all.”, He explained.

“Oh…”, she muttered, thinking what she should ask next. “When you are in your wolf form then how do you communicate with other wolves?”

“With mindlink. You can call it telepathy. Our wolves can contact other wolves.”, He answered.

“So it means whenever you seem lost for a while. You are actually talking with someone else.”, She asked.

“Hmmm…”

“Can you talk with any wolves of your pack in the same way?”

“Obviously, sweetheart”, He said as if she was insane.

“Wow!”, She appreciated it.

“Really?”, he asked, seeing how amazed she was from the fact that he could mindlink any wolf of his pack.

“Yes. I wish I could have this power. In that way, I wouldn’t need a mobile anymore.”, She said.

“You will have this power one day.”

“But how? I don’t have any wolves.”

“You can mindlink only me, once my wolf will mark you.”, He said. “ Marking is like marriage for werewolves and unlike our marriage that will happen when you will be ready.”, He added before Grace would have asked about it, making her completely speechless.

“Umm…so how does it work? Will you teach me or I can do that on my own?”, She asked the most stupid question to change the topic but she had no idea that she was going to make herself embarrass.

“There is nothing I can teach anything in that, sweetheart but I can teach you many things which you don’t know. You just need to say YES”, He said. Grace blushed hard, she knew what he was trying to say.

‘Pervert.’, She thought sarcastically.
