Amery couldn't believe her eyes. If someone had told her that they had seen Asher today, she probably wouldn't have believed it but seeing him with her own two eyes was what she never expected on a day like today. At first she thought that it was a ghost of his that had come to haunt her but it wasn't. It was really Asher in flesh and blood. He hasn't changed a bit. He still looks exactly as she had seen him the last time. She followed his eyes and it landed on her seated on Levi's thighs. She saw the look of confusion in them and she quickly detached from Levi. He blinked twice as he tried to take in what he had just seen in front of him. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine walking in on Amery seated on Levi's thighs. It was more than what he had anticipated. Time seemed to slow down for a moment as she tried to stop her raging heartbeat that had started pumping at the sight of him. Amery saw the look that he gave her and she didn't know what to say or do at that point about it.

Without uttering a single word, he threw the flowers on the ground and stormed out of the cafeteria. She decided to run after him but Levi stopped her from doing so.

"Where are you going?" Levi asked, his brows furrowed together in what resembled anger.

"I am going to see Asher so I can talk to him. Do you really need to ask me that? He's your brother as well." She admonished, her tone slightly raised.

"He is my brother and I have all the time in the world to talk to him if I want to but are you forgetting that we are in school. What would people think if they saw you rushing off to meet my brother instead of being with me? Don't you know that it will raise a lot of suspicions?" He questioned and Amery found herself in a bind. "We had rules Amery and you're not supposed to do this now."

"I'm sorry Levi." She pulled her wrist away from his grasp. "I need to talk to Asher so that I can explain things to him." Before he could say anything more, she had already rushed off to meet him.

Amery followed him outside the school's gate towards the parking lot where she saw him holding hands with Natasha. Perturbed, she slowly dragged her feet towards them, unable to believe her eyes. There's no way this situation would be what she was thinking. "Asher...." She trailed off with a deep breath. She pushed her messy hair backwards as she tried to maintain composure. Natasha was too close to him and call it selfish or jealousy she didn't care and she didn't like it. She had been anxious ever since she saw him and deep down, she had a lot of questions she wanted to ask him. Where did he go? Why didn't he come back until now? Where had be been?

"It's so good to finally see you again." She whispered in delight, her eyes taking him in as though they haven't just met minutes ago. "How are you and where..." Her voice croaked with too much emotions. "Where did you go?"

Asher looked at her as though he couldn't recognize her anymore because he didn't. The only reason why he had left that day was because she had told him that she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. She even pointed it out that she didn't want to be romantically involved with him and he comes back to find her straddled on Levi's thigh?

At first he didn't want to believe it but when Natasha had confirmed that they were indeed a couple and had shown him pictures of them being lovey dovey together, the last ounce of trust he had for her flew out the window. She had not only lied but had cheated on his feelings and betrayed his emotions. For a potential mate, that was the worse kind of pain and heart ache that anyone could ever experience.

"I already know everything." He muttered instead. "But I want you look me in the eye and tell me if it's true or not."

"Asher let me explain-" She took a step forward but he stopped her.

"Don't bother." His voice clipped and just then, she felt something die inside of her. It was almost as if someone had switched off the light bulb to power her down in an instant. "Natasha had already hinted on the fact that you and Levi are in some sort of a serious relationship with each other. Now, I don't want to believe anything that she has to say concerning the fact that you both have history with each other so I'll ask again, is it true or not?"

"Please let me explain." She rasped, her voice coming in pants. She doesn't know what lies Natasha had fed him but she also knew that it wasn't in her best interest. If Natasha had gone through the trouble of ratting her out to him them it would only be to her own gain because she was crazily in love with Asher. "Just give me a chance to explain everything to you in details Asher. I promise that I will tell you everything. You just have to trust me."

He chuckled followed by a laugh that didn't reach his eyes. "I asked you a simple question Amery. Are you or are you not in a relationship with Levi?" He repeated for the second time. "I just need you to tell me a simple yes or no. That's all that I would like to hear and nothing else."

"You know that I was so shocked to see you when you got back Asher. I wanted to come into your arms and hug you and tell you just how much I've missed you and not argue like this. How can you come to school to see me and then act as if you don't want to speak to me?" She demanded. Just then, Levi appeared from behind and started towards her.

"Are you sure that you were excited to see me? Because from what I had seen earlier, it sure felt like you were very excited to be seated on his thighs in the cafeteria with everybody watching." Asher stated the obvious. He looked like he had a lot of things to say to her but he was holding back probably because of Natasha who had clung herself to him like glue.

"Of course I am happy to see you." She admitted. "There is no day that has passed without me thinking about you and wishing that you were here with me."

"I really want to believe you right now Amery but then your so-called boyfriend is behind you so I guess that he's probably waiting for you so please, save your words of affirmation for someone who actually needs it" He shunned her. He took a step closer to her till they were inches away from each other. "And here I was all the while thinking that I was coming back to something and that I had something was waiting for me. Something of my very own, but I guess it had all been an illusion from the very beginning. I just failed to see the signs even though they were constantly presenting themselves in front of me." He whispered to himself but she could clearly hear him due to their close proximity.

"Just stay far away from me Amery, I really mean it." He warned her sternly, his fingers pointing at her.

"Asher, please-" Amery had already started crying out as she openly begged him but he wouldn't listen. Instead, he grabbed Natasha's hands and after giving Levi a death stare, they both walked back into the school.

Amery broke down into bits and pieces at Asher's words. She was not used to this side of him. He was one of those people that always tried to figure out the good and look past the bad in people but now he wasn't even giving her a chance to explain herself. First it was Quincy and now it was Asher. Why is it that every time she tried to find something for herself, she's always caught up in the middle of the siblings rivalry that never ends?

On one hand was Quincy, on the other was Asher and in the middle of it all was Levi. Funny how weeks before she wanted him dead but now he was one of those people that she wanted to keep close to her.

"Let's go inside." He urged and tried to help her up from the ground where she was crouched.

"He's mad at me too isn't he?" She hiccupped, her voice and nose, a snotty and raving mess.

"Asher will get over it trust me." Levi whispered to her empathetically but she still won't have any of them.

"You didn't see the way he looked at me Levi." She blatantly disagreed. "I know that you think that he is your brother and that you know him pretty well but he was also my very good friend and not once has Asher ever looked at me with those cold and hard eyes." "No matter how upset he was with me, we had always found a way to resolve it and stay friends but he wasn't even willing to offer that to me anymore Levi." Amery broke down into a massive flood of tears. "He must have felt hurt seeing us in that position together and now I have betrayed the trust that he had put in me."

She continued crying when Levi didn't say anything more to console her. "Maybe you were right Levi. Now I understand why you were always trying to kill me. I am not a good person and whatever I come across always breaks up leaving me alone by myself." She sniveled. The more she tried to hold back the tears and reel it in, the more it falls down freely from my eyes.

"Hey." Levi helped her up to her feet. "Don't say that about yourself." He advised but deep down inside him, he knew that a part of him was right about what she had just said but he was finding it difficult to admit to it.

"All my life, I had brought nothing but chaos to the people I love and care about. I have broken families and I have also destroyed and ruined many relationships and friendships. How is any of it not my fault?" She flipped her words at him angrily. "Maybe if my parents had just chosen to kill me, then I probably wouldn't have been here to ruin things Levi. I wouldn't have been born to come against you and your brothers. I'm sorry." She squeezed her eyes shut as she wept bitterly.

"This is all my fault Levi and Asher is never going to forgive me. He's going to hate me forever." She stated the obvious even though it felt like a bitter pill for her to swallow. All of this was her fault and she had caused everything. If she hadn't had s*x with Levi and hid the truth from Quincy then at least she won't be fighting so many battles at this point.

"I feel so scared and frustrated Levi." She wailed sadly. Levi pulled her to himself in a hug and let her remain there. He too was conflicted on the situation at hand. How was he supposed to end this now? And would he able to? Those were the only questions that flooded through his mind but he didn't have any answers to give to them so he just held her close and sunk deeper into the silence that he had created for himself.
