Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 152
Levi stood frozen, unable to move or say anything after his confrontation with Amery. Her words cut through his chest like a dagger and pierced his heart. Why does it hurt? She merely told him off right? So why does it feel like she said something that he wasn't expecting to hear? He did what he did to protect his brothers so he shouldn't have any regrets so why was he feeling bad about it?
It's not like it's his fault right? Why does he feel like he needs to apologize to her?
All through the day in school, Amery avoided him like a plague. At first, he thought that she would get over it soon enough and forgive him like she usually does but it felt like this time, she was determined to stay away from him. He never wanted to kill her. If Asher had stalled a little minute longer, he would've stopped her from taking that glass of wine but he can't tell her that because it'll seem as if he was making an excuse.
It would seem as if he was lying and didn't want to own up to his s**t. She spent the entire day in the custody of Asher and the mere sight of them hanging out together infuriated him. Everyone in school thinks that something is going on between them and he can't bring himself to accept that.
He would find a way to earn her trust again. She would forgive him. He has already sent out some men to go in search of Madeline and when he finds her, he will handle her the way that pleases him.
She would pay for kidnapping Amery and using that substance against her and that's a promise that he intended to keep but first, he needed to make Amery forgive him again. He needed her by his side and would not let Asher take her away from him. "I can see that she's ignoring you." Someone whispered from behind. "It's so sad to see that she chose your brother over you. I always used to imagine why Amery was so keen on being by your side. It sucks to be you doesn't it?" Natasha asked but before he could respond, she walked out of his sight.
Time flew by quickly and before he knew it, it was time for them to leave. He spotted Amery walking out of class with Asher. They were indulged in a serious conversation and he wondered what they were talking about. Amery usually talked to him about her problems but now, she had shifted that duty to his brother.
She left and he approached Asher who watched her leave.
"What were you saying to her?" Levi queried him as soon as Amery was out of sight.
"Nothing that concerns you, Levi. Amery doesn't want me to tell you anything so I can't go against her wishes." Asher walked past him but Levi drew him back angrily.
"I need to talk to her." He whispered calmly forcing Asher to face him squarely.
"About what?" He primped. "About how you wanted her dead and connived with your psycho ex to kill her?"
"I want to apologize but she won't listen let alone talk to me. I want her to know that I didn't mean what I did back then."
Asher rolled his eyes in irritation. "Of course you did. You were the only one who wanted to kill her ever since you found out that she was our mate. You had this mad obsession about ending her life and this time, you took it too far." Asher chided him. "If Amery doesn't want to talk to you anymore then respect that. You've caused her enough pain and sorrow to last her a lifetime so just let her be. Don't force her into giving In to your pretentious apology because I know you, Levi, you'd kill her again if you had the chance to." He made to leave but stopped abruptly.
"Oh and one more thing, please drop the stupid sorry act because none of us is going to buy it." And with that, he disappeared into his car and zoomed off. Ever since the incident with Amery, Asher has refused to associate with him and he doesn't see eye to eye with Quincy either.
They always pretend to be busy or act like he doesn't exist when they're around him. He knew that they also blamed him for what had happened to Amery.
Levi left for home after Asher but they arrived at the same time. As usual, he was ignored by Quincy so he just decided to lock himself up in his bedroom. He couldn't understand why his brothers were giving him the silent treatment. They were living in the same house but it felt like they were strangers.
Halfway through his s**t, someone knocked on the door and he opened it to find Quincy standing outside.
"Asher wants us in the living room." He informed Levi and made to leave but the latter stopped him. "Are you still upset with me?"
Quincy turned to face him. "You tried to kill someone Levi. You almost killed Amery and if we hadn't gotten there on time, she would've been dead. What part of that sentence don't you understand? You connived to kill her." "I didn't mean for that to happen."
"Right." Quincy primped. "Just like you also didn't mean for it to happen the last two times you did it. Sometimes I wonder if you're worse than Dad because you both act similar in so many ways." Quincy walked away and Levi trailed behind him to find Asher seated on one of the couches.
"I'll cut to the chase on why we're here." He began. "During my trip, I found Amery's mother and now, Amery wants to see her. I've been trying to hold her off these past few days but she's made up her mind that she wants to meet her." "What?" Quincy shrieked. "Why? I mean how?"
"I also didn't know that it was her mother but Amery confirmed it. Apparently, the potion that she was bathed In triggered most of her memory so she recognized her." He relayed the message to them while Levi remained quiet. "Do you think it's wise to take her there?" Quincy inquired.
"That's why I need your help. Amery believes that her past is somehow connected to what happened to her as a child and she can't piece the dots if she doesn't see the source." He continued. "And I cannot send her to our realm alone because well you know, father isn't too keen on having her around. It could be dangerous and something bad might happen to her."
"You both don't need me anyways so I'll sit this one out." Levi excused himself but Asher wouldn't have it.
"You tried to kill her and this is the chance to redeem yourself. Are you going to let it slip?" He asked conversionally. "We only need to escort her there and bring her back safely and you're the oldest between us so do the right thing and fix up your mess. So what's it gonna be? Are you in or out?" Asher asked while they all stared back at him, waiting for his answer.
